As first appeared in Matzav.com’s original post:
Update: The levayah of Rabbi Reuven Bauman z”l will be held on Monday, at 10:30 a.m., at B’nai Israel Congregation, the shul led by Rabbi Sender Haber, located at 420 Spotswood Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia. The aron will then be flown to the tri-state area, where a levayah is slated to be held in Clifton, NJ.
Matzav.com has been asked to convey that following the minhag of the Breuer’s kehillah, which both Reb Reuven’s family and his wife’s family follow, women should not go to the bais hachaim.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports that the body of Rabbi Reuven Bauman z”l, who was swept out to sea last week in Norfolk, Virginia has been found.
The discovery was made early this afternoon and Rabbi Bauman’s family was notified a short while ago.
The news comes after days of intensive searching that involved volunteers from the local community and far beyond, and the participation of the Coast Guard, police, fire personnel, and others. Organizations including Hatzolah, Misaskim, Shomrim, Chai Lifeline and Achiezer were involved in the effort.

Dear Friends,
As friends, admirers, and students of Rabbi Bauman and his family, we have all experienced a very difficult week.
My goal with these words is to clarify some facts and perhaps answer some questions.
As you know, Rabbi Bauman was caught in a riptide in the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach in the early afternoon on Tuesday. The force of the water was so strong that nobody present was able to save him. The rescue crews were nearby and on the scene immediately.

The family of Rabbi Reuven Bauman will tear kriah and sit shiva today, according to a Psak the family received.
The family was told by their Rav that if the body is still not found by today at 12:40 PM, which is the time Rabbi Bauman disappeared, they should rip kriah and sit shiva.
