As first reported here on Matzav.com, Rav Binyomin Finkel, venerated mashgiach of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, is on a special visit this week to the United States.

Upon the shloshim of Maran Rav Gershon Edelstein zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh, a matzeivah was placed at the kever of the rosh yeshiva at the Ponovezh Beis HaChayim in Bnei Brak.
The wording of the matzeivah was prepared by family members, and the matzeivah was constructed by the Weiss brothers, skilled matzeivah builders who have been constructing monuments for gedolim for years.

As reported earlier this week on Matzav.com, upon the shloshim of Rav Gershon Edelstein zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh, Rav Eliezer Kahaneman, nosi of the yeshiva, gathered the hanhalah together and informed them of the appointment of Rav Dovid Levi, a son-in-law of Rav Gershon and a longtime R”M in the yeshiva, as rosh yeshiva.
In addition to the daily shiur that he has been delivering for decades, Rav Dovid will now deliver a shiur klali in the yeshiva once a week.
The appointment took place after Rav Kahaneman consulted with the current senior rosh yeshiva, Rav Berel Povarsky.

Rav Binyomin Finkel, venerated mashgiach of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, will be making a special visit to the United States.
From Monday, 7 Tamuz (June 26) through Monday, 14 Tamuz (July 3), the mashgiach will embark on a short but impactful chizuk trip.
During his visit, the mashgiach will dedicate most of his time to Lakewood, NJ, where he will be speaking in various yeshivos, chadarim, and shuls.
On Shabbos, the Deal community will have the zechus of hosting the mashgiach.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Mrs. Bracha Biegeleisen a”h of Boro Park. She was 87.
Mrs. Biegeleisen was the wife of Reb Moshe Biegeleisen, proprietor of the famed J. Biegeleisen Seforim Store, a Boro Park icon.
The levayah is being held now at Shomrei Hadas Chapels, located at 3803 14th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

Upon the shloshim of Maran Rav Gershon Edelstein zt”l, Rav Eliezer Kahaneman, nosi of the Ponovezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, has announced that Rav Edelstein’s son-in-law, Rav Dovid Levi, will continue the path of his esteemed father-in-law and serve as a rosh yeshiva at Ponovezh.
During the past week, Rav Kahaneman had prolonged discussions and consultations at the residence of the Ponovezh rosh yeshiva, Rav Berel Povarsky. They discussed matters concerning the yeshiva and its leadership following the passing of Rav Edelstein. With the blessings of Rav Povarsky, the announcement of Rav Levi as the new rosh yeshiva was made.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Yosef Mitnick z”l, longtime master rebbi and educator from Brooklyn, NY.
The levayah will be held today at 2 p.m. at Shomrei Hadas Chapels, located at 3803 14th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. The aron will pass Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin on Coney Island Avenue in Flatbush at 4:30 p.m. The aron will then be flown to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah on Har Hameunchos in Yerushalayim.
Rabbi Mitnick is survived by a wonderful family of bnei and bnos Torah and grandchildren and great-grandchildren following in his ways.

Rebbetzin Perkowski was a daughter of Reb Yehoshua Ludmir, a noted talmid of Rav Isser Zalman Melczer.
She was the wife of Rav Yisroel Perkowski zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Bais Hatalmud.
The levayah will be held this morning, at 11 a.m., at Yeshiva Bais Hatalmud, located at 2127 82nd Street in Brooklyn, NY.
