During Mayor Moshe Lion’s visit to Rabbi Dov Lior’s home in the Beit Orot neighborhood of Yerushalayim, a firebomb was thrown at the house, causing immediate panic among those present during the meeting.
According to a witness who attended the meeting, a sudden loud boom was heard, prompting everyone to rush outside. They discovered a firebomb that had ignited and caused damage to a canopy, a flowerpot, and some bushes in the front yard of the rav‘s residence. They acted swiftly, using a hose to extinguish the flames quickly.
The authorities, including police officers and Border Police, were immediately summoned to the scene. They conducted searches for potential suspects involved in this shocking act of violence, and the investigation is currently underway.
At the end of the meeting, Rabbi Lior expressed his well-wishes to Mayor Moshe Lion. He hoped for the mayor’s continued efforts in uplifting Yerushalayim and praised his dedication to strengthening and preserving the holiness and infrastructure of the city.
