There is heavy NYPD activity on Coney island Avenue in Flatbush, Thursday afternoon, after an armed man made threats and barricaded himself inside an apartment. The incident unfolded at around 12:30AM, when a man in a building near Yeshivat Darche Eres (Y.D.E.), called 911 and said he had a gun and was planning on shooting people. The NYPD responded, and the man had barricaded himself inside his apartment. The Yeshiva has been placed on lockdown. Highly credible sources tell YWN that this is a result of a landlord-tenant dispute. Coney Island Avenue has been closed from Avenue V to Avenue W. Additional information will be published when they become available to us.
