A major fire broke out this morning at the newly built Skverer Bais Medrash on Jefferson Avenue in Shikun Skver in New York.
The blaze occurred just one day before thousands of Chassidim were set to gather for the official inauguration of the massive building, scheduled to open for the first Selichos of 5784.
Multiple local fire departments responded swiftly to the scene, working together to combat the flames.
By approximately 11:15 a.m., the fire was fully brought under control.
However, it is still unclear how much damage was caused to the structure, which has been eagerly anticipated as a new central bais medrash for the Skverer kehillah.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire, though no official explanation has been released.
