Jamal Simmons, previously the communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris, caused a stir during a CNN discussion on Sunday by recommending that President Joe Biden should step down, thereby allowing Harris to make history as the first female president.
“Joe Biden’s been a phenomenal president, he’s lived up to so many of the promises he’s made. There’s one promise left that he could fulfill, being a transitional figure,” Simmons stated on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “He could resign the presidency in the next 30 days, make Kamala Harris President of the United States—”

Officials have charged a man they say started a fire in New Jersey with sparks created by spent shotgun rounds. The blaze ravaged through 350 acres last week, with smoke from the fire creating a haze over New York City and much of the tri-state region. Richard Shashaty, 37, of Brick Township, New Jersey, was charged with arson and firearms-related violations in connection to the Jackson Township blaze, now dubbed the “Shotgun Fire.”

Sirens blared early Monday morning, just before 6:00 a.m., in Beit Shemesh and nearby regions.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit later confirmed that the Israeli Air Force intercepted a projectile that had been heading toward Israel from Yemen.
This projectile did not enter Israeli airspace, and the sirens sounded as part of established procedures.
Following the interception, debris fell in the Beit Shemesh area, sparking a fire.
The night before, shortly before midnight, alarms also sounded in the Upper Galilee area.
The IDF later reported that an unidentified aerial object crossed into Israeli airspace from Lebanon and was tracked by the Air Force before being intercepted.
