A frum doctor in Queens, New York, Dr. Ellie Bennett, wrote a long, detailed, letter to the rosh av bais din of the Badatz of the Eidah Hachareidis, Rav Moshe Shternbuch, and that letter convinced Rav Shternbuch to close his yeshiva in light of the coronavirus.
The letter explains the danger of the spread of the virus. The number of hospital beds, the doctor writes, is not enough for all expected patients.
The only way to stop the spread of the virus is to maintain distance between people, wrote Dr. Bennett.

Over the weekend, as first reported on Matzav.com, Dr. Vladimir (Zev) Zelenko of Kiryas Yoel in Monroe, NY, announced that he found a treatment against the coronavirus with a 100% success rate on 350 patients.

Dr. Meltzer, a resident of Kew Gardens, Queens, NY, was a Hatzolah volunteer for decades.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be delayed by a year in the first postponement since the modern games began in the 19th century, becoming the biggest global event to be disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach agreed to the unprecedented move in a telephone call Tuesday to delay the games that were set to begin in July. “The Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will not be canceled,” Abe told reporters in Tokyo after the call, adding they will be held by the summer of 2021.

A renowned mohel and author, R’ Romi passed away after contracting the coronavirus.
Born in 1929 in the city of Pressburg, Czechoslovakia, Romi grew up as a precocious child in a warm and caring family.  His parents were successful in business and well known for their charity and kindness. They often invited guests into their home and hosted local Yeshiva students who had no place else to go.
