Sanofi is voluntarily recalling heartburn medication Zantac in the U.S. and Canada amid worries that the medicine may be tainted with a compound that could cause cancer.
The French pharma company’s announcement follows decisions from major drugstore operators in the U.S., including Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. and Walmart Inc., to pull the medication from store shelves. In addition, manufacturers have recalled some generic versions of Zantac products known as ranitidine.

Security guards from the Border Crossing Authority on Friday evening thwarted a terrorist attack at the Te’enim Crossing, near the Palestinian Arab city of Tulkarm, the Defense Ministry said.
Initial reports indicate that a knife-wielding Palestinian Arab terrorist ran toward the crossing and tried to stab the security guards stationed there but was shot before he could cause any damage.
The terrorist was eliminated. There were no Israeli casualties.

It is with great sadness the Matzav.com learns the news of the petirah of hayeled Yosef Goldman, an eight year old boy who drowned after a boat he was on overturned on the Hudson River near Haverstraw Bay Park.
Yosef was the son of Mordechai and Perel Goldman, who live Eretz Yisrael and are in New York for Yom Tov. R’ Mordechai Goldman is the son of the Zvhiller Rebbe of Monsey who is in turn an eidim by the Skverer Rebbe.
The levaya will be taking place in Skver before Shabbos.

A young boy is in critical condition after being pulled from the Hudson River near Haverstraw Park.

A boat with seven people on board flipped over in Haverstraw, New York and an eight-year-old boy wearing a black life vest went missing in the water. Fire Department personnel entered the water with the assistance of boats, divers and drones. The boy was ultimately found, CPR was performed, and he was transported to the hospital.
The incident took place in the Hudson River near Haverstraw Bay Park
All are asked to daven for Yosef ben Pearl l’refuah sheleimah.
