Israeli aircraft struck Islamic Jihad targets throughout the Gaza Strip on Wednesday while the terrorist group rained scores of rockets into Israel for a second straight day as the heaviest round of fighting in months showed no signs of ending.

The Education Ministry announced on Wednesday that all schools, daycares, and kindergartens within a 40 km (25 miles) radius of the Gaza border will be closed on Thursday due to the ongoing rocket fire from Gaza.
