Two U.S. naval destroyers, the U.S.S. Bulkeley and the U.S.S. Cole, launched a dozen interceptors to counter Iranian missile strikes, the Pentagon announced Tuesday. During a press briefing, Pentagon spokesperson Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder confirmed that no American troops, despite over 40,000 being stationed in the region, were injured in the attacks.

Matthew Miller, the State Department spokesman, said there was no message from Tehran to Washington, “direct or indirect,” warning of the coming attack.

A video verified by YWN shows a crater inside the grounds of the Shalhavot Chabad elementary school in Gedera, Israel. The windows and facade of the school building next to the impact site were blown off. No one was injured.  

Various videos and images shared on social media depict several craters formed by the impact of some of the 180 ballistic missiles launched by Iran. In one video, a significant sinkhole is seen in Israel’s Sharon region, reportedly caused by one of the missile strikes.

A U.S. defense official tells Fox News that “On accordance with our ironclad commitment to Israel’s security, U.S. forces in the region are currently defending against Iranian-launched missiles targeting Israel. “Our forces remain postured to provide additional defensive support and to protect U.S. forces operating in the region,” the official added.

MDA EMTs and paramedics have been deployed to search several sites where reports of rocket strikes have been received. Currently, there are no reports of injuries from the fire towards Israel, except for two light injuries from shrapnel in the Tel Aviv area and some minor injuries nationwide while moving to safe spaces, as well as cases of anxiety. Further updates will be provided as necessary.

Jordan’s Public Security Directorate reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted several missiles and drones that entered the country’s airspace during Iran’s attack on Israel. “The Royal Jordanian Air Force and air defense systems responded to multiple aerial threats,” the statement read.
