Rockland County Executive Ed Day made a surprise visit to a Monsey indoor children’s play center on Tuesday, to show support for it’s Orthodox Jewish owner who reported harassment and threats following public comments he had made on vaccination.

With the continued measles outbreak in Rockland, County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert remind residents of the importance of getting vaccinated. As of May 24, there are 247 confirmed reported cases of measles in the county since the outbreak began in October 2018.

Rockland County Legislators Phil Soskin and Aron Wieder and Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht attended the Tosh-Monsey Lag Ba’Omer holiday celebration along with more than 500 residents. Politicians came out to show support for the Hassidic community.

Recently, hundreds of anti-vaxxers gathered at an event in Monsey. Lacking any legitimate Rabbonim to address the gathering, the audience was privileged to hear from a dishonest conspiracy-theorist claiming to be a Rabbi.

More than 100 children helped make a Kiddush Hashem as they participated in the “Keep Rockland Clean” event on Sunday. The children helped clean the area around Lake Suzanne.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day wrote to President Donald Trump requesting that an Executive Order be issued or laws be passed to require that visitors from other countries present certification of appropriate immunization before being allowed entry to the United States.

Thankfully, there were no serious injuries after a car collided head-on with a school bus in Monsey on Monday morning at Route 306 & Viola Road.
