The reasonableness bill was passed by the Knesset on Monday afternoon following a siege on the Knesset by anarchists. The bill was passed 64-0 as the opposition members boycotted the vote by leaving the Knesset. The bill revokes the reasonableness clause, which allowed Supreme Court justices to knock down any law passed by the Knesset as long as it is “reasonable” in their view – which lent them excessive power over the elected government, unparalleled in any democracy in the world.

While calling for “democracy,” hundreds of anarchists tried to destroy the democratic process by blocking the Knesset entrance on Monday morning in a bid to stop the Knesset’s advancement of the reasonableness bill. A vote to advance the bill began on Monday afternoon. Police tried to clear the protesters with water cannons but the water streams [no skunk or dyed water that was used against Chareidim] during the current heatwave did nothing to deter them. Additionally, Achim B’Neshek army refusers handcuffed themselves to each other and refused police orders to disperse. The police were forced to physically remove the protesters, which they did with admirable restraint. Dozens were arrested and transferred for questioning.

A right-wing demonstration in favor of the judicial reform began on Sunday evening at the Kaplan intersection in Tel Aviv. The protest is being held to show support for the government as it advances legislation to revoke the reasonableness clause in order to curb the power of the Supreme Court, which holds excessive power unparalleled in any democracy throughout the world. Speakers at the event include Ministers Betzalel Smotrich, Amichai Chikli, Yoav Kisch, Dudi Amsalem, Avichai Boaron in addition to various right-wing journalists, scholars and public figures. One speaker led the crowd in singing: “Kol HaOlam Kulo Gesher Tzaa’r Meod.” Others spoke about emunah.

Thousands of leftists still angry about the democratically elected right-wing government continued their march to Jerusalem that began last week, arriving at the capital on Shabbos. Many leftists set up tents in Gan Sacher, which is near the Knesset, slept there Motzei Shabbos, and continued to protest on Sunday, holding a rally outside the Knesset. The wave of IDF reservists threatening to quit their service has continued, and opposition leader Yair Lapid held a meeting with Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David on Sunday to try to convince him to call a general strike in opposition of the government. Politicians, past IDF generals, and prime ministers continue to engage in lies and incite worldwide opinion against the government.

In a head-to-head matchup against Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s lead widens further, with 47% supporting him compared to Harris’s 38%.
