Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has claimed Tehran possesses evidence that the United States and Israel orchestrated the collapse of Syria’s Assad regime, according to Iranian state news agency IRNA.
The comments come just days after Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fled to Moscow following the rapid capture of Damascus by opposition forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani, marking a dramatic end to the Assad family’s decades-long rule.

A large-scale dress rehearsal by Hamas for its Oct. 7, 2023, invasion of southern Israel was missed by Israeli intelligence agencies, Hebrew media reported on Tuesday.
Information regarding the drill was obtained from a Hamas protocol recovered by Israeli forces in Gaza, and was confirmed by captured Hamas prisoners and senior Israeli security officials, according to Channel 12 News.
The drill was orchestrated and overseen by Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif, and involved Hamas operatives assembling at designated points, primarily mosques. Following the exercise, Hamas’s Supreme Military Council concluded it was a “great success” and that Israel’s failure to detect it had confirmed the group was ready to carry out a surprise attack.

FBI Director Christopher Wray made an announcement on Wednesday regarding his decision to resign from his position as head of the agency, following increasing pressure from Republican leaders who expressed doubts about his leadership.
During a town hall meeting with FBI staff in the afternoon, the 57-year-old Wray explained that after “weeks of careful thought,” he had chosen to step down in January, once the current administration’s term concludes. His decision came as a response to mounting demands from GOP senators and President-elect Donald Trump.

For most U.S. residents, the sun went down earlier on one of the past few days than at any other time of the year.
Jarringly early December sunsets are the result of the annual “fall back” from daylight saving time to standard time. But what if we had never sprung forward in the first place?
Incoming Trump administration “government efficiency” advisers Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy posted recently in favor of dumping daylight saving time for good. On the flip side, in 2022, the U.S. Senate advanced a plan to make daylight saving time permanent.
Either plan would get rid of the twice-a-year clock changes, as almost two-thirds of Americans say they want.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Tuesday that any entity threatening Israel’s security would face dire consequences.
Speaking at a naval base in Haifa, Katz revealed that Israeli forces had destroyed Syria’s navy, as part of a broader campaign to neutralize strategic threats that could later pose a danger to Israel.
“The IDF has acted in recent days to attack and destroy strategic capabilities that threaten the State of Israel,” Katz stated, cautioning rebels that “whoever follows [ousted president Bashar] al-Assad’s footsteps will end up like Assad did.” He emphasized Israel’s resolve to prevent any “extremist Islamic terror entity” from operating against Israel.

Three days after the November election, the Biden-Harris administration lifted sanctions on Iran, granting the country access to over $10 billion in previously frozen funds, according to a copy of the confidential order sent to Congress and reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.
On November 8, Secretary of State Antony Blinken determined that “it is in the national security interest of the United States” to permit Iraq to transfer over $10 billion to Iran for electricity import payments by waiving mandatory economic sanctions.

President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he will expedite federal approvals for major energy and infrastructure projects worth over $1 billion. However, this proposal could face significant obstacles, including legal and regulatory challenges, particularly from a key law that mandates federal agencies assess the environmental consequences of major undertakings before granting approval.
On Tuesday, Trump shared a statement on his Truth Social platform, revealing that any project with an investment of at least $1 billion would receive “fully expedited approvals and permits, including, but in no way limited to, all Environmental approvals.”
“GET READY TO ROCK!!!” he added enthusiastically.

A bomb threat “for Palestine” directed at U.S. Congress Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s home in Rome, Georgia, on Monday afternoon, resulted in an accident that claimed the life of a bystander. The threat, which authorities suspect originated from a Russian IP address, is now under federal investigation.
The Rome Police Department received an email with the subject line “For Palestine,” claiming a pipe bomb had been hidden in Greene’s mailbox. The message, which ended with “VIVA VIVA PALESTINA,” threatened to detonate the alleged device over the weekend or upon the mailbox being opened.
