Rudy Giuliani says Barack Obama had to be “asleep at the switch” to keep his vice president, Joe Biden, in charge of Ukraine policy while Biden’s son Hunter worked for “the crookedest guy in Ukraine.”
Giuliani points to a 2013 trip the two Bidens took on Air Force Two to China. Days later, a company in which Hunter Biden had a large stake made a private equity deal with a subsidiary of the government-owned Bank of China that ended up being worth $1.5 billion.
“I hope they at least paid for the trip,” Giuliani commented. “Why wasn’t Obama saying, ‘This is unacceptable?’”
John Kerry was Obama’s secretary of state when Biden traveled both to China and Ukraine.

Police confiscated nearly $4 million worth of THC vape cartridges near Minneapolis on Monday, the largest seizure of its kind in Minnesota.
During a raid in Coon Rapids, a suburb north of Minneapolis, police recovered 76,972 e-cigarette cartridges containing THC, along with $23,000 in counterfeit cash. One suspect, who was suspected of dealing via Snapchat, was arrested.
The bust follows Minnesota’s first vaping-related death. An elderly woman who vaped marijuana for back pain died from a vaping-related lung injury in August, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Nationwide, nine people have died and the CDC says 530 have been sickened from vaping-related illnesses.

News outlets report the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Future Income Payments LLC owner Scott Kohn on Saturday in San Diego. The 65-year-old has been on the run since March when authorities in South Carolina secured fraud indictments against him.
Court filings say the company provided cash advances to veterans and others that would then be repaid by their pensions. Traders weren’t told the advances had interest rates that could top 240%. The upfront money came from investors who were promised up to 8% back on their investments.

Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey, a 2020 presidential contender, celebrated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcement that she is launching an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.
“We as lawmakers have a responsibility to do the right thing — and today, I support Speaker Pelosi’s leadership and applaud her announcement of a formal impeachment inquiry,” Booker said on Twitter. “It’s our one remaining path to ensuring justice is served.”
“The president took an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution,” Mr. Booker. “Instead, his words and actions have served to undermine it, along with the very ideals of our nation.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan compared Israel to Nazi Germany on Tuesday, even comparing Jews in Europe during World War II to the situation in the Gaza Strip.
“The immediate establishment of an independent Palestinian state with homogeneous territories, on the basis of the 1967 borders with east[ern] Jerusalem as its capital, is the only solution,” said Erdoğan during his speech at the U.N. General Assembly, reported Ynet news.
The Turkish leader, known for his anti-Israel rhetoric in the past, held up maps of Israel since 1947 and pointed out that the Palestinian territories were “shrinking.”
“Where are the borders of the State of Israel?” he asked.

President Trump on Tuesday expressed defiance at the news that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) intends to announce a formal impeachment inquiry into him, suggesting it could benefit him politically.
“The country’s doing the best it’s ever done, and I just heard she’d like to impeach,” Trump told reporters during a meeting with the Iraqi president at the United Nations, calling the move a “continuation of the witch hunt.”
“If [Pelosi] does that, they all say that’s a positive for me in the election,” he said. “You could also say who needs it. It’s bad for the country.”
