Bereaved relatives heckled Prime Minister Naftali Bennett when he was called to the podium to speak during the national Yom HaZikaron memorial ceremony on Har Herzl on Wednesday. The relatives called out: “You should be ashamed! You’re a con man. Get out of here. Shut your mouth. You established a government with the greatest of our enemies, we don’t want you,” and other similar comments. The heckling continued for at least five minutes, during which Bennett continued to stand there and listen. He responded by saying: “The bereaved families are sacred. They’re allowed to scream and express their pain. Beloved families, I love you greatly. I hear your pain.” Earlier on Wednesday Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked was also heckled and responded similarly. (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)

Jewish music superstar Avraham Fried sung for Chareidi soldiers on Tuesday night at the IDF base at Tzomet Latrun. The evening, which was arranged by the Netzach Yehuda organization, was held through the generous efforts of philanthropist Dovid Hager. In the video below, the soldiers are seen dancing and singing enthusiastically to a song often sung by IDF soldiers, even secular ones: “And the main thing is not to fear, not to fear at all.” "והעיקר לא לפחד כלל": גדול הזמר החרדי אברהם פריד משמח את החיילים האהובים שלנו. pic.twitter.com/QXh24LGqol — מנחם מ'ברכפלד'

A fast-moving fire left a home in Monsey destroyed, but thankfully, no one was injured. The fire started at around 6:00PM at 19 Main Street, just next door to Motty’s Supermarket. The Fire Department, Rockland Hatzolah and Rockland Chaveirim all received multiple calls reporting the fire. Chaveirim and Hatzolah arrived first on the scene, and both assisted in evacuating multiple elderly occupants from the home. Eyewitnesses told YWN that Hatzolah and Chaveirim volunteers literally saved the lives of the occupants of the home. Bichasdei Hashem, no injuries were reported. In an interesting twist, Motty’s Supermarket – which is located next door – burned down around 7 months ago. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

About 2,000 mispallelim davened at the Kosel on Tuesday morning for Rosh Chodesh Kislev. However, unfortunately, the tefillah was disturbed by a small group of about ten women of the Women of the Wall organization who once again tried to smuggle a Sefer Torah into the Kosel plaza, in violation of the decisions of Israel’s Supreme Court and Attorney-General. The representatives of the Women of the Wall arrived at Shaar Ha’Ashpot and carried out a protest holding a Sefer Torah until the entrance to the Kosel. Their entrance was blocked by the Kosel Heritage Foundation’s security guards but the women refused to concede and a skirmish broke out at the scene.
