A first-of-its-kind tripartite summit between top US, Russian and Israeli security officials was held in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
The event — focused on regional security issues — was attended by US National Security Adviser John Bolton, Russian National Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Israeli National Security Council Chairman Meir Ben-Shabbat.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also delivered remarks at the gathering.
According to the Israeli leader, his country — along with the US and Russia — would “like to see a peaceful, stable and secure Syria.”
He also asserted there was a “common objective” — “that is no foreign forces that arrived in Syria after 2011 remain in Syria.”

Iran will “resolutely” abandon more commitments under a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers on July 7, Fars News Agency reported on Tuesday, quoting the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani.
“Based on a decision by the SNSC, the second step to modify Iran’s nuclear deal undertakings will seriously start within the framework of paragraphs 26 and 36 of the nuclear deal,” Shamkhani wrote in a memo to Fars News on Tuesday.
“Iran’s reaction to the deceptive political attempts to restrict the inalienable rights of the Iranian people is no different from its response to the US drone’s violation of its aerial borders,” Shamkhani added.
