Sen. Joe Manchin joined four of his Senate Democratic colleagues in the increasingly large chorus publicly calling on President Biden to step aside and allow “a new generation” to come forward.
Manchin (I-WV), who left the Democratic Party in May but still caucuses with them, joins the likes of Senators Peter Welch (D-Vt.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Martin Heinrich (D-NM), and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) in this call.
“My prayers are with the health and well-being of my friend, the president,” Manchin told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, referring to Biden’s recent COVID-19 diagnosis.

In a move seen by some as a snub to his intraparty rival, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has appointed Justice Minister Yariv Levin as Israel’s temporary acting premier while he is in Washington this week. Additionally, Foreign Minister Yisroel Katz has been authorized to convene the security cabinet if necessary during Netanyahu’s absence. The appointments come amid public tensions between Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, fueling speculation that the prime minister is seeking to assert his authority within the party. According to Israeli law, an acting prime minister must be designated to assume duties when the leader is abroad or temporarily unable to perform their responsibilities.

Joe Biden has announced that he is endorsing vice-president Kamala Harris as his successor for the Democratic presidential nomination.

President Joe Biden has announced that he will suspend his 2024 re-election campaign amid mounting pressure from his Democratic colleagues on Capitol Hill, top donors and Hollywood stars after a disastrous debate performance last month.
The unprecedented announcement came as an increasing number of Democrat lawmakers had begun to publicly call for Biden to step aside and the party’s leadership reportedly was engaged in efforts to convince Biden, 81, he could not win in November’s general election against former President Trump, the 2024 GOP nominee who Biden defeated four years ago to win the White House.

Security forces have foiled a significant terrorist plot orchestrated by Hamas operatives in Turkey and involving students from Birzeit University in Ramallah.
The operation, a collaborative effort of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), IDF and a specialized police unit, led to the arrest of several suspects and the seizure of weapons and funds earmarked for the attack.
The cell, operating under the banner of “Kutla Islamiya,” was in the advanced stages of planning a major attack when it was uncovered. Intelligence gathered by the Shin Bet indicates that the suspects were acting on directives from Hamas leadership in Turkey, with the ultimate goal of establishing a foothold for Hamas operations against Israeli targets.

In a historic and unprecedented move, President Joe Biden has announced his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. The announcement comes after immense pressure following his widely criticized debate performance against former President Donald Trump, which led to ever-increasing calls from within the Democratic Party for Biden to step aside in favor of a younger, more dynamic candidate. At 81, Biden is the oldest sitting president in U.S. history, and doubts about his ability to effectively serve another term have been growing. In contrast, Donald Trump, 78, has shown relatively few signs of slowing down, further intensifying the scrutiny on Biden. This development marks the first time in U.S.

President Joe Biden officially is dropping out of the 2024 election.
At 1:46pm, Biden posted on X the news that he would be dropping out of the race.
Biden’s post read: My Fellow Americans,
Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation.

Fifty-five Israeli lawmakers, including government ministers, on Sunday called on Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to use his address to the U.S. Congress this week to denounce the Biden administration’s sanctions against Israeli citizens and entities in Yehuda and Shomron.
The letter, an initiative of the Knesset’s Land of Israel Caucus, also urged the premier to invite the heads of local authorities in Yehuda and Shomron to join the delegation scheduled to leave for Washington on Monday.
“We, the undersigned members of Knesset, are deeply shocked by the decision of the U.S. administration to impose economic sanctions on Israeli citizens and entities,” the missive reads.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has released footage of its airstrike on the Houthi-controlled port of Hodeida in western Yemen yesterday. The operation, dubbed “Outstretched Arm,” targeted fuel depots, energy infrastructure, and container cranes used to unload shipments. The strike was carried out by dozens of Israeli aircraft and aimed to disrupt the Houthi economy and prevent the importation of Iranian weapons. The IAF believes the strike will project a message of deterrence to Israel’s enemies, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah. The IAF is now on high alert for reprisal attacks, assessing that Iran-backed groups in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon will ramp up attacks following the strike. Israel’s air defenses are not foolproof, officials warn, and more successful drone attacks are likely.

An emergency meeting held at BMG’s Ateres Esther this past Thursday night brought together over 100 Lakewood rabbanim, each with hearts aflame with passion and urgency. At stake: the future of Torah in Eretz Yisroel.
The asifas rabbanim marked the beginning of a critical mobilization effort within their respective kehillos to ensure that the kol hatorah in Eretz Yisroel does not, chas veshalom, die out.
The gravity of this moment cannot be overstated. While an impressive $84 million has already been pledged by philanthropists across the US and Canada, there remains a significant gap of $24 million that must be raised. For this, the roshei yeshiva and rabbanim are turning to us. The future of Torah in Eretz Yisroel needs you.

The Israeli military announced Sunday that it is starting optional polio vaccinations for soldiers fighting in the Gaza Strip after the virus was found in sewage there.
With the cooperation of international groups, additional vaccines have been brought in for Gaza’s population, the army added.
The inoculation campaign comes one week after the Israeli Health Ministry reported that poliovirus type 2 was discovered in sewage samples from the Gaza Strip.
Polio is a highly infectious disease that is primarily spread through fecal-oral contamination, sometimes by drinking contaminated water, poor sanitation and poor control of sewage.
The shots will be offered to all Israeli forces serving in Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces believes that Hamas terror chief Mohammed Deif was killed in an airstrike in Gaza on July 13, according to a Channel 14 report on Sunday.
Deif and his deputy, Rafa’a Salameh, were targeted in a structure close to the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone near Khan Younis. The military confirmed last Sunday that Salameh, the commander of Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade, was killed in the strike.
Salameh joined Hamas in the 1990s and played a central part in the kidnapping of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit in June 2006.
On Friday, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said that “there are increasing signs that we succeeded in the elimination of Mohammed Deif.

The doctor treating Donald Trump’s gunshot wound is so “concerned” about the former president’s health that he’s been offering his services to the former president daily–apparently without a valid medical license, according to TMZ.
Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Trump’s former White House physician, appears to have lost his medical license in the state of Virginia after it expired in May, 2020. Jackson still retains a certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine until 2025, which allows him to provide emergency medical services only, TMZ noted, citing a 2023 article from The Dallas Morning News. In Florida, TMZ added, Jackson’s license is listed as “Military Active,” meaning he is only able to administer medical treatment at army facilities.

Some big Democratic donors reportedly want Joe Biden off the 2024 presidential ticket so badly that they are refusing to donate more money until he leaves. They even have a slogan: “No more dough until no more Joe,” reported The Washington Post.
In a bid to establish a viable replacement for Biden, donors have paid for new polling and funneled money to officials that would make public calls for the sitting president to bow out of the race. However, in the end, the decision rests solely on Biden’s shoulders, said Jeff Weaver, a former political strategist for Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaigns.
