Israeli police are currently investigating the involvement of Solomon Abramov, who was extradited from England to Israel last week, in the case of missing teenager Moshe Kleinerman, according to a report by Mako on Thursday.
Authorities suspect that Abramov was one of the last individuals to have seen Moshe before the 17-year-old disappeared in March 2022. The ongoing investigation now suggests there is significant concern regarding Moshe’s safety.
Although Abramov has acknowledged spending time with Moshe before the disappearance, he maintains that he is unaware of what happened to the teenager.
“It is true that I was with him a few times in certain areas,” Abramov stated during questioning. “I have no idea what happened to him afterwards. I did not touch him and I did not do anything bad to him. You have got the wrong address.”
Abramov left Israel nearly a year ago, shortly after being initially questioned on suspicion of involvement in the case. A police source informed Mako that while Abramov was questioned under caution, he was released due to insufficient evidence.
“We had information, but it was not yet enough to form well-founded proofs,” the source explained.
Abramov was later extradited back to Israel following complaints that he had sexually assaulted two 15-year-old boys. Authorities believe he may possess information that could help locate Kleinerman.
On Wednesday, the Yerushalayim District Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against Abramov in the District Court for allegedly committing indecent acts against minors.
Responding to the developments, the Kleinerman family stated: “The family does not know of any development in the investigation. At the same time we trust the police to do their work in the best way possible, and we hope that a shred of information will be found which will solve this mystery, which has not given us rest for two years and three months.”
