The IDF and ISA released a statement on Thursday announcing that they had successfully targeted and eliminated the leader of Hamas’ “Sabra” Battalion, along with his deputy and other operatives involved in attacks against Israeli forces.
Over the past week, utilizing intelligence provided by the IDF and ISA, the Israeli Air Force carried out a precision airstrike that killed Osama Abu Namos, who led the “Sabra” Battalion within Hamas’ Gaza City Brigade.
Abu Namos was a key figure in coordinating Hamas’ operations against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers in the Netzarim Corridor. His expertise made him a crucial asset to the terrorist organization.
In a separate airstrike, Mahmoud Al Tarq, the deputy commander of the “Sabra” Battalion, was also killed. Al Tarq additionally held the role of Nukhba Forces company commander within the battalion.
He played a central role in orchestrating and carrying out attacks on Israeli forces and civilians in central Gaza’s Netzarim Corridor. He was instrumental in managing operatives and overseeing terror facilities in the region.
Two other Nukhba Forces company commanders from the “Sabra” Battalion, Mahmoud Shaheen and Hamada Diri, were also killed in these operations. Hamada was involved in supplying weapons to Hamas fighters within the battalion and worked alongside Shaheen in carrying out assaults on IDF forces in the area.
