At least 16 individuals have tragically lost their lives in the devastating fires sweeping across Los Angeles, according to reports from local authorities.
The fatalities include 11 victims from the Eaton Fire and five others who died in the Palisades Fire, as confirmed by the county medical examiner’s office.
All of the deaths are being treated as fire-related and are under investigation.
Additionally, a smoke advisory for Los Angeles residents has been extended through at least Sunday night as multiple fires continue to ravage the city, according to a statement issued today by LA County Public Health officials.
Since the fires began on Tuesday, health warnings about the smoke have been issued daily.
“The primary health concern is the small particles, which can cause burning eyes, runny nose, scratchy throat, headaches and illness (i.e., bronchitis),” the department noted.
