Israel’s Defense Minister Yisroel Katz issued a stern warning this evening to freed terrorist Zakaria Zubeidi, cautioning him against returning to terrorism. Katz shared his message on X, stating, “You were released in a deal for the purpose of releasing Israeli hostages. One mistake, and you’ll go to join old friends. We will not accept support for terror.”
On Friday, footage emerged showing Zubeidi walking through Ramallah, where he was seen greeting locals and encouraging them to continue their violent actions against Israel. In a video shared by Reuters, the terrorist declared, “It’s time that our Palestinian nation achieve its freedom and the independent state it wishes for, with Jerusalem as its capital.”
Zubeidi had previously led the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, which is affiliated with the Fatah movement in Jenin. He has been linked to several attacks carried out during the Second Intifada and was one of the terrorists who managed to escape from prison in September 2021. Additionally, Zubeidi was responsible for a deadly attack on a Likud party office in Beit Shean in 2002, where six lives were lost.
