President Trump has infused the Oval Office with a fresh energy, abandoning traditional meeting structures where one guest departs before another arrives, the NY Post reports. Instead, he blends meetings seamlessly, introducing participants to each other and creating an atmosphere of dynamic interaction filled with energy and humor. This approach has turned the White House from a quiet, lifeless space into a vibrant hub of personal engagement.
Having shaken countless hands, Trump often sports a large skin-colored Band-Aid on the back of his right hand, covering bruises and scratches from the enthusiastic well-wishers he greets.
His daily routine starts early at 6 a.m. and often stretches late into the evening, with small, sociable dinners in the White House featuring a rotating group of dignitaries.
At 78, he exudes more vitality than many people half his age.
When he wakes up, Trump says his thoughts immediately turn to “business. Everything’s business.”
Currently, that business is political.
“There’s no thoughts of leisure, no going to the beach like Sleepy Joe Biden did and falling asleep in front of the press. How do you fall asleep in front of the press?”
On Friday, he flew to Palm Beach for a few nights, where members of his exclusive Mar-a-Lago club, dressed in elegant attire, cheer as he enters the golden terrace for dinner.
The menu is a mix of eclectic choices, including homestyle dishes such as “Mary Trump’s meatloaf.”
In less than three weeks, he has stirred the nation and the world into action with an unrelenting schedule.
He has signed 500 executive orders, held meetings with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and engaged with dozens of world leaders and U.S. politicians.
“We have a country to save,” his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, explains to supporters, highlighting the frenetic pace of their efforts.
In contrast to his predecessor’s more controlled and restrained approach with the press, Trump holds large, packed press conferences and takes questions from anyone.
He takes particular pride in Karoline Leavitt, the youngest White House press secretary in history at 27.
She has earned acclaim from both the press corps and the public for her bold performances at the podium.
When she arrived at the Mar-a-Lago terrace on Friday night, she was met with a standing ovation.
Trump humorously remarked that, like him, it wasn’t difficult to outperform their predecessors.
Trump also expresses admiration for Elon Musk, the billionaire innovator who is uncovering waste and corruption, saving taxpayers over $1 trillion annually.
Musk heads a team of bright, high-IQ individuals at the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
After making significant changes at USAID — where Trump suggested, “I think we should close it down and let it be run by the State Department” — he authorized Musk to expand his team by adding 45 more staff members recruited from Musk’s tech ventures.
The next targets for reform are the Pentagon and other agencies, including possibly the FBI and CIA.
“It’s the greatest thing that’s happened to this country in many years,” Trump told the Post.
“They’re finding all the waste and fraud and corruption that nobody thought anybody would ever look for.”
Regarding federal spending, Trump said, “I thought it was corrupt. I have a feel for that stuff. My nose told me it was corrupt. Nobody else had any idea it was that corrupt. Think about it. Out of 100 items that we looked at, 98 were bad. Normally it’s the other way: 98 are good and you find two bad. They’re all bad. Horrible.”
Trump has developed a paternal affection for Musk and agrees that Musk, the richest man in the world, “possibly” sees him as a father figure.
“He’s a different guy. A very good guy. For one thing, he’s very intelligent. He’s sort of … child-like … He’s a very good guy. Very smart guy. I always thought of him as a loner, a recluse [but] he’s becoming very unreclusive. It’s amazing. He feels this is one of the most important things you can do.”
Trump was entertained on Thursday night in the Oval Office when an exuberant Musk and journalist Tucker Carlson showed up for a discussion, both wearing oversized red MAGA hats.
Trump has transformed a small room off the Oval Office, once called “The Monica Room,” into a merchandise display filled with every variety of MAGA hat imaginable, including Musk’s preferred black-on-black version, as well as golden shoes, water bottles, and copies of his coffee-table books.
After their conversation, Musk shared his thoughts on X, posting:
“I love Donald Trump as much as a straight man can love another man.”
