It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Mordechai Mintz z”l, a respected talmid chacham and dedicated marbitz Torah. He was 84.
Rabbi Mintz was well known for his commitment to limud haTorah, delivering a daily Daf Yomi shiur during his lunch break in Manhattan for many years. His shiur attracted a devoted group of learners, reflecting his passion for spreading Torah even in the midst of a busy workday.
In addition to his role as a maggid shiur, Rabbi Mintz served as the longtime gabbai of Rav Avigdor Miller’s shul, where he was deeply involved in the kehillah and carrying on the legacy of his revered rov.
He was zocheh to receive semicha from Rav Tuvia Goldstein zt”l, a testament to his yedios haTorah, yegiah and hasmadah.
His legacy continues through his family, who are deeply involved in chinuch and harbotzas haTorah. His son, Rabbi Ari Mintz, is the founder and head of Bnos Chaim in Lakewood. His son-in-law, Rabbi Dovid Engel, is a well-regarded mechanech.
Yehi zichro boruch.
