After completing an investigation of the stabbing and shooting attack near the Ariel Junction back in March in which a soldier and a rabbi were killed, the Israeli army revealed “various operational forces related to the operational discipline of the force.”
Several soldiers were removed from their combat positions and both the battalion and company commanders were given command notes on their handling of the situation.
The debriefing pointed to activities that failed to adequately prepare the soldiers for the mission, while freshly minted Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi also indicated that the force operated defectively during the event itself, failing to perform as expected of combat soldiers at the scene of an attack.
