FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers Tuesday that the bureau has recorded about 100 arrests of domestic terrorism suspects in the past nine months and that most investigations of that kind involve some form of white supremacy – though an FBI spokeswoman later clarified the percentage is smaller.
The figure, which Wray conceded was imprecise, is similar to the number of arrests made in international terrorism cases and represents an uptick compared with the prior year. He revealed the data at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, seeking to assure lawmakers that the bureau was aggressively pursuing cases of racially motivated violence.
“Needless to say, we take domestic terrorism or hate crime, regardless of ideology, extremely seriously,” Wray said.

The Israel Defense Forces’ counter-terrorism school is trying to use innovative tactics and training programs to maintain quiet on the border with the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip and prepare for future wars.
In particular, the Lotar Counter-Terrorism School trains and equips snipers and underground fighting units.
Snipers have perhaps the most difficult and potentially explosive task on the Gaza border — using live fire to prevent infiltration and attacks on Israel’s border communities.
Deaths from Israeli live fire frequently make the international news and tend to be spun to Israel’s detriment, making the snipers a major part of the media war.

President Trump took aim at Rep. Rashida Tlaib on Tuesday, deriding the congresswoman as a “lunatic” after video resurfaced of her protesting a Trump speech in 2016.
“I watched just this morning this Tlaib from Michigan,” Trump said at Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Summit, a gathering of young conservatives and supporters of the president.
“There is no way she stands for the values of the people of Michigan,” Trump continued. “But I watched her this morning. She’s vicious. She’s like a crazed lunatic.”

Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China will meet Iran in Vienna on July 28 to discuss how to save the 2015 nuclear deal, the EU’s foreign policy service said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The meeting has been convened at the request of France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Iran, and will examine issues linked to the implementation of the JCPOA in all its aspects,” the statement said.
The Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the deal’s formal name, will be chaired by the EU foreign policy service’s Secretary General Helga Schmid.

Volvo Cars Tech Fund, the investment arm of Volvo, has backed Israel-based medical AI startup MDGo, incorporated as Endovitech, the former announced Monday. The financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Calcalist’s Hebrew version first reported on the investment and a planned joint product last month.
Founded in 2017 and based in northern Israeli city Haifa, MDgo developed a system for analyzing injuries incurred by passengers during a car accident using the car’s existing internal sensors and connectivity capabilities. The system automatically sends its report to hospitals and emergency medical services.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations on Tuesday shared Israeli intelligence information with the UN Security Council showing Iran funneling weapons to the Hezbollah terrorist organization, highlighting the continuing threat posed by the Tehran regime and its Lebanese proxy along Israel’s northern border.
“In the years 2018-2019, Israel found that dual-use items are smuggled into Lebanon to advance Hezbollah’s rocket and missile capabilities,” Danny Danon — Israel’s envoy to the UN — revealed to the Security Council.
Danon said that the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), which directs Iranian interventions abroad, had begun “to advance the exploitation of the civilian maritime channels, and specifically the Port of Beirut.”

President Trump on Tuesday sued the Democratic-controlled House Ways and Means Committee, the New York state attorney general and a New York state tax official to try to block any potential efforts by lawmakers to obtain his state tax returns.
The president filed the lawsuit in federal court in Washington, D.C., alleging that House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) is considering using a recently passed New York state law to try to get Trump’s state tax returns.
New York Attorney General Letitia James expressed confidence that Trump’s effort would fail.
