U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar said that she plans to introduce a resolution this week in support of the anti-Israel BDS movement, reported Al-Monitor on Tuesday.
“We are introducing a resolution … to really speak about the American values that support and believe in our ability to exercise our first amendment rights in regard to boycotting,” the congresswoman told the outlet. “And it is an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support a nonviolent movement, which is the BDS movement.”
Since entering Congress in January, Omar has made multiple anti-Semitic and anti-Israel remarks.

Pakistan authorities on Wednesday arrested Hafiz Saeed, the alleged mastermind of a four-day militant attack on the Indian city of Mumbai in 2008, on terror finance charges, a spokesman for the chief minister of Punjab province said.
The arrest came days before a visit to Washington by Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has vowed to crack down on militant groups operating in Pakistan.
Saeed, designated a terrorist by the United States and the United Nations, is the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), or Army of the Pure, the militant group blamed by the United States and India for the Mumbai attacks, which killed more than 160 people.

Portugal has approved about a third of approximately 33,000 applications for citizenship under its 2015 law for descendants of Sephardic Jews, according to official data.
Applications based on the 2015 law, primarily from Israel, Turkey, Brazil and Venezuela, are behind a 10-percent increase in applications in 2018, which saw 41,324 such requests in 2018, the Publico magazine in Portugal reported last month. It was the highest tally in at least five years.

Egypt is preventing Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh from setting out on a fundraising trip to several countries, chief among them Iran, Gaza media reported Tuesday.
Hamas’s official mouthpiece in the Gaza Strip, Al-Risala, claimed that Egypt and Israel are joining forces to undermine Hamas’s ties with the Iranian regime.
Haniyeh has been trying for some time now to leave the Gaza Strip via Egypt, with the aim of raising funds for his organization, which is in dire economic straits.

The second Democratic primary debate is on July 30 — but some candidates are at risk of not meeting the thresholds for support and donations to qualify for the party’s debates.
Here is a rundown of how candidates can qualify for the first two debates, and who has qualified so far:

Israel launched a tender for fifth-generation (5G) cellular frequencies on Sunday, hoping discounts to cash-strapped mobile phone operators battling fierce competition will entice bids.
The telecoms regulator expects three groups to bid, including a combination of operators to cut down on costs. It expects to announce winners by the end of the year with a commercial launch to start in 2020 and continuing through 2023.
“We are aware of the companies’ current financial situation and the tender takes this into account,” said Communications Minister David Amsalem.
The ministry has said 5G is necessary to develop health, agriculture and education, as well as smart cities and self-driving cars.

The Lahav 433 anti-corruption unit is investigating a suspicion that some of the results of April’s election were purposely fraudulent, Kan 11 reported.
According to the report, the Elections Committee reported inaccuracies in the results, and those were recently called to give testimony. Some of those testifying worked in the voting stations’ committees.
The central suspicion is that in certain voting stations, votes were actively distributed among the parties and incorrectly entered into the system.
