Israel’s National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources Minister Yuval Steinitz has signed the paperwork for Israel to begin exporting natural gas to Egypt from its Tamar and Leviathan fields in January, Israel business daily Globes reported on Monday.
“For the first time in its history, Israel is becoming an energy exporter. This is the most important economic cooperation between Israel and Egypt since the 1979 peace agreement between the countries,” he said.
“The natural-gas revolution is making us an energy power, and will provide not only enormous revenues for the state, but also a dramatic decrease in air pollution,” he added.

Shortly after being named Amazon.com’s global logistics chief in 2013, Dave Clark held a conference call with his new reports. During the meet-and-greet, according to a person on the call, Clark described his early-career habit of lurking in the shadows of Amazon warehouses and scoping out slackers he could fire, which earned him the nickname The Sniper. Clark speaks in a monotone and is hard to read, but the message was clear enough: The new boss wanted his underlings to know that he will let little stand in the way of ensuring that customers get their orders on time.

Jews who fled Arab countries in the years following the establishment of the State of Israel left behind approximately $150 billion worth of property, according to an Israeli government analysis obtained by Israel Hayom.
The report, which was completed with the help of the National Security Council, notes that Jews who were expelled or fled Arab nations in the late 1940s and ’50s left some $31.3 billion worth of property in Iran; $6.7 billion in Libya; $1.4 billion in Syria; $2.6 billion in Yemen; and $700 million in Yemen’s temporary capital of Aden.
The authors of the report said the numbers represent a “conservative” estimate not adjusted to reflect current inflation rates.

Between its sandy beaches and vast array of culinary delights, Tel Avivians already know that they live in one of the best cities in the world. Now, however, it’s official: Last week Forbes named Israel’s White City the second-hottest world destination.
Tel Aviv, which follows Los Angeles in the Forbes list of top cities to visit in the coming year, is described as “ancient history” meets “modern living … along Israel’s Mediterranean coast.”
The magazine gave a shout-out to Jaffa’s Setai hotel, a luxury hotel that started out as an Ottoman-era police station, for those really looking for the old-meets-new experience that the city embodies.
The article also cited Tel Aviv’s unique, UNESCO-recognized Bauhaus architecture as a reason to visit.

President Trump’s job approval rating has ticked up 6 percentage points since the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry began, according to a new survey.
The Gallup poll released early Wednesday found Trump’s approval rating at 45 percent, up from 39 percent when the inquiry was launched in the fall. The new findings mark the third-consecutive increase in Trump’s approval rating, Gallup noted.
Trump’s growing approval is buoyed by Republicans who give him high marks. Almost 9 in 10 GOP respondents — 89 percent — support Trump, compared to just 8 percent of Democrats who approve of the job the president is doing.
