Stanford Law School professor Pamela Karlan apologized on Wednesday after she received backlash for mentioning President Trump’s 13-year-old son, Barron Trump, during the impeachment hearing.
“I want to apologize for what I said earlier about the president’s son. It was wrong of me to do that. I wish the president would apologize, obviously, for the things that he’s done that’s wrong, but I do regret having said that,” Karlan said.
The witness’s apology came after remarks she made earlier in the day while explaining the president’s rights under the Constitution.

First lady Melania Trump on Wednesday tore into the expert witness at the House Judiciary Committee hearing who used her teen son Barron’s name to make a point about the president.
“A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics,” the first lady tweeted Wednesday night in response to remarks by Stanford Law School professor Pamela Karlan at the House Judiciary Committee’s hearing. Karlan told the Judiciary Committee, “The Constitution says there can be no titles of nobility, so while the president can name his son Barron, he can’t make him a baron.”
“Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it,” the tweet continued.

Israel’s Defense Minister Naftali Bennett on Tuesday signed a ministerial decree imposing financial sanctions on a London-based terror suspect believed to have ties to Hamas.
The decree states that all of Mohammed Jamil Mahmoud Hersh’s assets in Israel are to be frozen, while foreign institutions operating in Israel risk fines for doing business with him. Hersh, a Hamas activist deported from Israel in 1992, is currently living in the UK, where he works for the Arab Organization for Human Rights in the UK, a charity affiliated with Hamas.
The decree was issued in accordance with Israel’s Counterterrorism Law.

Leviathan, Israel’s largest offshore natural-gas field, will start supplying the local market by the end of December, followed by exports to Egypt and Jordan soon after, Reuters reported on Monday.
“Within two to three weeks, we will open the wells and start to supply the gas,” said Binyamin Zomer, vice president for regional affairs at Texas-based Noble Energy.
“Before the end of the year, we will start supplying the domestic market, and in the weeks right after that, we will export to Egypt and Jordan,” Zomer told the annual Israel Energy and Business Convention, according to the report.
Noble Energy discovered the Leviathan field, located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Haifa, in 2010.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) over the weekend compared the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border to that of Gaza and Israel.
“Do you know what I saw at the border? I saw Gaza,” said Tlaib, the first Palestinian American woman in Congress, during her keynote address on Saturday at the American Muslims for Palestine conference in Chicago. “When you think about the border, you have to got to understand how interconnected the oppression in Palestine is with the oppression taking place at the border.”
She also said that she’s advocating for clean water in her Michigan district and “fighting for clean water in Gaza.”
More than 3,500 people were at the three-day event, according to organizers.
