Israeli security forces have thwarted an attempt to smuggle a massive quantity of military equipment into the Gaza Strip, the IDF revealed on Thursday.
The Israeli military said that officials from the Defense Ministry’s Crossings Authority, along with officers from the Gaza District Coordination Office and the Office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) seized hundreds of parcels of dual-use products at the Erez Crossing.
The products were bought online in hopes of eluding detection and were destined for terrorist groups in Gaza, the military said.

North Korea fired two projectiles on Thursday, using the start of the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States to telegraph its frustration over Washington’s refusal to grant sanctions relief.
The short-range projectiles were launched from Ryonpo on the North’s east coast around 5 p.m. local time, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said. They added that the projectiles, presumed to have been fired from a super-large multiple rocket launcher, traveled a distance of about 235 miles and reached an altitude of 60 miles.
“This type of act from North Korea does not help efforts to alleviate tensions on the Korean Peninsula,” the JCS said.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe described Pyongyang’s actions as a threat to the region and the world.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed Thursday that it had destroyed the homes of two Palestinians accused of murdering Israeli yeshiva student Dvir Sorek in August.
Cousins Nasir and Qassem Asafra were arrested in August and later charged with murdering Sorek, who was on his way back to a Torah class in Migdal Oz after a trip to Jerusalem.
Three others were also charged in connection with the murder.
Local residents in the village of Beit Kahel, near Hebron, threw rocks and tires at the soldiers carrying out the demolitions, according to the military.
Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said in response to the announcement of the demolitions that Israel must exact a “heavy price” from those who attack its citizens.

Wake Up

By Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz
We read this week in Parshas Toldos about Rivkah’s difficult pregnancy. She is informed that “shnei goyim bevitneich,” she would be giving birth to two distinct personalities, Yaakov and Eisov, who would lead two separate nations.
Yaakov was the epitome of goodness, while Eisov is always pointed to as the embodiment of evil. The pesukim describe their differences somewhat cryptically, and Chazal expound upon what took place.
The posuk portrays Eisov as an “ish yodeia tzayid, ish sodeh,” a hunter, while Yaakov is depicted as an “ish tam yosheiv ohalim,” a fine person who spent his time in the tent of Torah.

A Saudi journalist expressed admiration for Jewish people and all of Israel’s citizens after visiting the Jewish state this week on a secret trip, i24News reported.
The reporter, cultural researcher and scholar of Jewish text, who spoke to Israel’s Army Radio on the condition of anonymity, made a trip to Israel after accepting an invitation by Israel’s foreign ministry, which also hosted Arab journalists last week from Kuwait and Iraq.
“My goal is to bring people here to get to know the real Israel—to see it firsthand, and not through television or social media—and see how Israel is unjustly slandered,” said Hassan Kaabia, Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokesman for the Arabic media who organized and accompanied the group, reported The Jerusalem Post.
