President Trump’s reelection campaign and the GOP have reportedly raised $13 million since Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday that House Democrats would launch a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump amid scrutiny over his interactions with Ukraine.
The campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) said they raised a combined $5 million from online donors in all 50 states in the 24 hours after the investigation was announced.
An RNC official told The Associated Press that Trump was expected to raise another $5 million from a Wednesday night fundraiser and $3 million from a Thursday morning breakfast for his reelection efforts.
The president’s son Eric Trump touted donations on Twitter, tweeting “A BIG thank you to @SpeakerPelosi and the Democrats.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign released a blistering statement on Thursday calling President Trump “unfit” to lead the nation after revelations that Trump urged the Ukrainian president to open an investigation into Biden and his family.
Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s deputy campaign manager, called Trump “one of the most divisive, unfit individuals to occupy the Oval Office in our nation’s history.”
“His willingness to sell out our national interest for his personal gain endangers our security and his attempts to cover it up put the stability of our democracy at risk,” Bedingfield said.

President Trump on Thursday accused the White House officials who relayed information to the whistleblower at the center of the Ukraine controversy of being “close to a spy.”
Trump dismissed the charges in the complaint, arguing that the whistleblower didn’t listen in on the July 25 phone call in which he allegedly pressured the leader of Ukraine to investigate 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden over unsubstantiated allegations of corruption.
“Basically, that person never saw the report, never saw the call, he never saw the call — heard something and decided that he or she or whoever the hell they saw — they’re almost a spy,” Trump said, according to the L.A. Times.

With negotiations between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Blue and White leader Benny Gantz, failing to form a national unity government, Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin ultimately choose Netanyahu as having the best chance to form a government within the next 28 days. However, with Netanyahu only garnering support of only 55 Knesset members—six short of a governing majority—it appears that Israel’s political deadlock will continue with both sides blaming one another for the impasse.

Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, the largest yeshiva in the world unfortunately fell behind six months in paying its yungeleit. Despite tireless efforts, the yeshiva could not have foreseen this for multiple reasons, the biggest factor being the change in the value of the shekel against the dollar. For the most part, the yeshiva’s 6,000 avreichim survive week to week, so a sign posted in the yeshiva notifying them that there would not be any checks forthcoming before Rosh Hashanah just compounded their distress.
