Palestinian security officials reportedly believe a West Bank bombing that killed an Israeli teenager Friday was carried out by a highly organized cell rather than so-called lone-wolf attackers.
The sources claim that the complexity and characteristics of the operation indicated it was likely the work of an organized terror group and not a single attacker, calling the killing a “dangerous” development, Israel’s Channel 12 news reported.
The unnamed Palestinian officials expressed concern over the cell’s capability to carry out the attack, saying the existence of such cells posed danger not just to Israelis but to the Palestinian Authority as well.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as well as Israel Police and Shin Bet launched a full-scale manhunt over the weekend in an attempt to catch the culprits who set off a bomb that killed Rina Shnerb and injured her father and brother.
Three Palestinians were arrested during raids early Saturday, though their connection to the attack was known, as the IDF continued its search, seizing a number of surveillance cameras in the area.
“We are in the midst of a pursuit being led by IDF, [Shin Bet] and Israeli Police forces and are coordinating a wide-ranging operational intelligence effort to locate the perpetrators of this grave and murderous attack,” Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi said in an official statement released by the IDF the previous evening.

Palestinian-American congresswoman Rashida Tlaib called Friday’s West Bank attack that killed an Israeli teenager “tragic and horrible”, instead advocating “nonviolent approaches to ending the Israeli occupation.”
“This is absolutely tragic & horrible. My heart goes out to Rina’s family. More than ever we need to support nonviolent approaches to ending the Israeli occupation and guaranteeing equal rights for all. Extremism that puts innocent lives at risk moves us no closer to peace,” Tlaib wrote on Twitter.
Rina Shnerb was killed Friday while her father rabbi Eitan Shnerb and 19-year-old brother Dvir were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated at a popular spring near the Dolev settlement in the West Bank.

The Israel Defense Forces announced late on Saturday it conducted an aerial operation in Syria targeting Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps to thwart a major planned drone attack on Israel.
The announcement, confirmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Twitter, came following reports in Syrian state media that anti-aircraft defenses fired at ‘enemy targets’ over Damascus.
“The strike targeted Iranian Quds Force operatives and Shiite militias which were preparing to advance attack plans targeting sites in Israel from within Syria over the last number of days,” the IDF statement read.
“The thwarted attack included plans to launch a number of armed drones intended to be used to strike Israeli sites.”

Mylan and Pfizer are still struggling with manufacturing issues for the EpiPen anti-allergy injector as the critical back-to-school season gets underway and a rival generic product hits the market.
EpiPens, which can help stop a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction, have been hard to get since at least May 2018, when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the device was in short supply. Former and current employees of Pfizer’s Meridian Medical Technologies Inc., which makes the product for Mylan, said supply has been unsteady since at least 2017, when inspectors began noticing defects.
Pfizer spokeswoman Amy Rose said the drugmaker is committed to resolving the supply problem.

North Korea’s top diplomat said on Friday that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was a “diehard toxin” who only complicates denuclearisation talks and North Korea was ready for both dialogue and standoff.
North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, who took part in the Hanoi summit along with Pompeo, called the chief U.S. negotiator the “diehard toxin of the U.S. diplomacy” who employs “hackneyed sanctions rhetoric”.
Ri referred to Pompeo’s remarks in recent press interviews in which he said sanctions would be kept until North Korea takes concrete actions on denuclearisation.

The trade war between the United States and China worsened Friday as Beijing imposed retaliatory tariffs on $75 billion in American goods and President Trump took the extraordinary step of calling on U.S. companies to stop doing business with China.
The new tariffs, which included reinstated levies on auto products, delivered a strategically timed blow as recession warning signs cast doubt on the strength of the U.S. economy.
Trump initially directed his ire at Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell in Friday tweets, painting the Fed’s lack of monetary easing as a greater threat to American workers and businesses. But moments later he said he would be responding to China’s tariffs later Friday and demanded American companies cut ties with China.
