President Trump on Sunday suggested U.S. investigators had “reason to believe” they knew who launched crippling attacks against a key Saudi oil facility, and vowed that America was “locked and loaded depending on verification.” While he did not specify who he believed was responsible for Saturday’s drone attacks, U.S. investigators previously have pointed the finger at Iran. “Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!” the president tweeted. On a dirt road past rows of date trees, just feet from a dry section of Colorado River, a small construction crew is putting up a towering border wall that the government hopes will reduce — for good — the flow of immigrants who cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. Cicadas buzz and heavy equipment rumbles and beeps before it lowers 30-foot-tall (9-meters-tall) sections of fence into the dirt. “Ahí está!” — “There it is!” — a Spanish-speaking member of the crew says as the men straighten the sections into the ground. Nearby, workers pull dates from palm trees, not far from the cotton fields that cars pass on the drive to the border.

Yemina candidate Naftali Bennet last week released details of US President Donald Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’, America’s latest effort to bring about peace in the Mideast between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority). According to Bennet, who released a map to get his point across; most of Yehuda and Shomron would be controlled by the PA, and the yishuvim would be tiny islands living in Palestine according to the White House’s plan. The attached photo of the map shows PA areas in black and the Jewish communities in white. He points out all Jewish communities are “surrounded entirely by Hamas, [Fatah] Tanzim and the PLO”. Bennet adds, “It’s Gehenoim for all the residents of Ariel, Ofra and Kiryat Arba. The end of settlements”.

The United Auto Workers union announced that its roughly 49,000 members at General Motors plants in the U.S. will go on strike Sunday night because contract negotiations with the automaker had broken down. The decision came after about 200 plant-level union leaders voted unanimously in favor of a walkout during a meeting Sunday morning in Detroit. “We stood up for General Motors when they needed us most. Now we are standing together in unity and solidarity for our members,” union Vice President Terry Dittes said in a statement. It’s still possible that bargainers could return to the table and hammer out an agreement, but union spokesman Brian Rothenberg said at a news conference that it would be unlikely.

The Secret to Postwar Renaissance: Preeminent Gedolim Headline 5th Siyum Hashas 1960. Global Jewry was still in the early stages of rebuilding after the unprecedented Churban Europe. Most survivors had settled in the United States and Eretz Yisroel, and were in the early stages of building families, businesses, communities and Mosdos Hachinuch. The pain was still raw and the challenges were substantial. The ranks of those who learned The Daf each day were small. Most had never given it a thought, or were completely unaware of its existence. Still, the preeminent gedolei Yisroel at the time recognized the importance that The Daf holds. It would be key to the renaissance of Klal Yisroel in the years ahead.
