Metivta Tiferet Torah of Monsey is hosting their Open House on Sunday January 19 in Brooklyn featuring an address by Rabbi David Ozeirey. For over a decade the kol torah of Yeshivat Tiferet Torah’s top-notch overwhelmingly successful and active bet midrash and kollel programs has permeating its walls forming a new generation of talmidei chachamim all under the leadership of Rosh HaYeshiva Rabbi Nissan Hakakian. Metivta Tiferet Torah seemed the next logical step for an already bustling beacon of torah thought in Monsey. Established at the behest of many gedolei yisrael the high school was developed to enrich the Sephardic mesorah in each talmid that passes through its doors.

In a dramatic procession across the U.S. Capitol, House Democrats carried the formal articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate, setting the stage for only the third trial to remove a president in American history. Trump complained anew Wednesday that it was all a “hoax,” even as fresh details emerged about his efforts in Ukraine. The ceremonial pomp and protocol by the lawmakers prosecuting the case against Trump moved the impeachment out of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Democratic-run House to the Republican-majority Senate, where the president’s team is mounting a defense aiming for swift acquittal. “Today we will make history,″ Pelosi said as she signed the documents, using multiple pens to hand out and mark the moment.

The impeachment of President Donald Trump is the Senate’s challenge now. Directed by the Constitution, House officials and prosecutors somberly carried the articles through the dimly lit Capitol to the Senate on Wednesday evening, triggering a trial unlike any since President Bill Clinton’s in 1999. He was acquitted. Look Thursday for a series of striking ceremonial matters to set up the Senate as a court of impeachment. Oaths will be taken. An oath book will be signed. And the seven House prosecutors, called managers, appointed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi will make an appearance in the well of the Senate to present the articles.

A United Airlines jetliner headed for Los Angeles returned to New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport early Thursday after flames were seen near a wing. Video showed flames soon after Flight 1871 had taken off. A passenger told WABC-TV it appeared fire was coming from an engine. “I didn’t know what was happening,” passenger Gabrielle Guzy said. “My sister said she thought it was lights but I knew it was fire from the engine. I kept reassuring myself we’d be OK because we had only been in the air for a minute.” In a statement, United said the flight returned because of a “mechanical issue.” The airline said the flight landed safely and passengers deplaned normally. The airline was working to get the passengers to Los Angeles. (AP)

Yeshiva Derech Hatorah of Brooklyn, NY recently held a Scratch 4 Chesed campaign that can serve as a shining example of how to integrate fundraising into your day to day event. Using a Scratch 4 Chesed campaign to raise funds for their school, the organizers incorporated the project into their ongoing event schedule and marketed it extensively, using the roll-ups, posters, and postcards provided by Scratch 4 Chesed. The scratch cards themselves were displayed prominently at the events, and people were allowed to select their preferred card from the array. Volunteers made sure the process of participating was clear and made sure to answer any questions people had.

“The House’s hour is over,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell declared Thursday in a floor speech slamming Democrats for putting on a “partisan performance” celebrating the signing of articles of impeachment by handing out souvenirs and posing for smiling photos. To critics, the tone of the event seemed celebratory — a far cry from December, when Pelosi wore black and insisted on the House floor it was a “solemn” day before the Democrat-controlled body voted to impeach the president on abuse of power and obstruction of Congress allegations. Later, she even cut short two rounds of cheers from Democrats when the articles were adopted.

What do haredim have to do with Israeli high-tech? Evidently a lot, when we consider the high-tech industry’s major HR shortage, and that the haredi community is an untapped resource that can meet this growing need. This was the purpose of the haredi high-tech conference held at the Jerusalem Waldorf Astoria on Wednesday. The conference, organized by Bizmax – Achim Global’s Jerusalem business hub, established with the Kemach Foundation and the Jerusalem Development Authority – brought together 1300 HR managers, executives across the high-tech industry, and officials promoting haredi integration in the workforce. Increasing haredi integration in the workforce has been a top priority. Indeed, over the last decade we have seen significant improvement in haredi employment.

This Israeli driver decided to stop at every Police camera on a highway in Afula and destroy them. Watch as he slows down by every camera, exit his vehicle, pick up the traffic cameras, and throw them into the roadway. No idea why he was doing this, but Police are looking for him.
