President Trump slammed CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta on Tuesday during a press conference in India, telling the reporter he should be “ashamed” and blasting the liberal network. “First of all, I want no help from any country, and I haven’t been given help from any country,” Trump answered before referencing a report that CNN had to walk back on Sunday. “If you see what CNN, your wonderful network said, I guess they apologized in a way. Didn’t they apologize for the fact that they said certain things that weren’t true? Tell me, what was their apology yesterday? What did they say?” Acosta fired back, “Mr. President, I think our record on delivering the truth is a lot better than yours sometimes.” Trump responded by attacking the credibility of Acosta and CNN.

Maran HaRav Don Segal was visibly overcome with emotion at Talmud Torah Chochmas Shlomo hachnasas sefer Torah Sitting in front of Chochmas Shlomo’s devoted menahel, Rav Avraham Shalom Pinzel, and looking out at the huge crowd of sweet children, we can only imagine the thoughts going through the mind of the cheder’s Nasi, the Mashgiach, Hagaon Harav Don Segal shlita. But when all of the cheder’s 1,500 children began to sing – a stirring song written by the Mashgiach himself, and which expresses Klal Yisrael’s yearning for Mashiach – he wept openly. We in the crowd, the parents and grandparents of these wonderful tinokos shel beis Rabban, were likewise moved to the core. There really wasn’t a dry eye around.

Numerous car owners in Queens were furious to find that their tires were stolen off their vehicle overnight. This happened in the kew Gardens Hills section of the Boro, at 138th Street near 68th Avenue. The message this man has in the video, pretty much, says it all. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

One of the four Israelis aboard the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship off of Japan who contracted the coronavirus has completely recovered and was released from the hospital in Tokyo on Tuesday. Rachel Biton was rigorously tested by the hospital over and over and was finally cleared for release. One of her relatives is still hospitalized in a Japanese hospital but will hopefully be released in the near future. Biton is reportedly returning to Israel on Wednesday but the details of how she is flying back to Israel are still unknown. A family spokesperson said that the family requests that the media give them time to organize their preparations for Biton’s return to Israel.

Ruth & Matisyahu Shzigel chose to do something that most families dare not attempt: To raise 16 children. Like many to choose to live such a life, they did it with joy & seemingly endless energy. Mother Ruth raised and married off 5 of her children, and juggled the responsibilities of the other eleven with grace, as father Matisyahu worked hard as a teacher in a yeshiva gedola.  They were truly ‘living the dream,’ until Ruth was diagnosed with the rare disease cryoglobulinemia. Cryoglobulinemia attacks the internal organs, and has ultimately rendered the once energetic mother unable to leave her bed. She spends long stretches of time in the hospital, and Matisyahu has been left to raise their many children alone. While he is away at work the children fend for themselves.

Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign offices across the country were defaced by vandals – which his office blames without evidence on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ “hateful rhetoric.” At least 7 offices round the country were spray-painted in large red letters with slurs including “racist,” “sexist,” “oligarch,” eat the rich, and “corporate pig”. In one location the windows were smashed. As @BernieSanders’ National Co-Chair, I unequivocally condemn the attacks on Bloomberg’s campaign offices. Our campaign fueled by grassroots donors is building the coalition needed to defeat Trump. Sanders is just speaking about facts in not letting money buy an election. pic.twitter.com/Zqof7SVeaL — Ro Khanna (@RoKhanna) February 25, 2020 (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

A plan for a new express train line straight from Ben-Gurion airport to the heart of the Old City has been approved for advancement, Israel’s Transportation Ministry announced this week. The new train, an extension of the current Jerusalem-Tel Aviv express line launched two months ago will enable tourists to travel straight to the Kosel upon arrival in Israel’s main airport. The project will add a new terminal in Jerusalem to the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv line, adding two underground stations in downtown Jerusalem and one in the Old City as well as a 1.8-mile tunnel under downtown Jerusalem and the Old City. The National Planning and Building Council approved the route of the new train but the details have not yet been made public.

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews apologized Monday to Bernie Sanders for comparing the Democratic senator’s win in the Nevada caucus to the Nazi takeover of France. Matthews’ self-described “bad” analogy deepened the discontent that the presidential candidate and his supporters have been feeling lately toward the cable network, one that is usually friendly territory for liberals. “Sen. Sanders, I’m sorry for comparing anything from that tragic era in which so many suffered, especially the Jewish people, to an electoral result in which you were the well-deserved winner,” Matthews said at the opening of his show, “Hardball,” on Monday evening. He said he’d try to do a better job elevating the debate this campaign season.

Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian leader who for nearly 30 years was the resolute face of stability in the Mideast before being forced by the military to resign after 18-day nationwide protests that were part of the Arab world’s 2011 pro-democracy upheaval, died on Tuesday, the country’s state-run TV said. He was 91. Throughout his rule, he was a stalwart U.S. ally, a bulwark against Islamic militancy and guardian of Egypt’s peace with Israel. But to the tens of thousands of young Egyptians who rallied for 18 days of unprecedented street protests in Cairo’s central Tahrir Square and elsewhere in 2011, Mubarak was a relic, a latter-day pharaoh.
