The following is an open letter from Councilman Deutsch sent to the community on Erev Yom Kippur:
Dear neighbors,
The Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur begins tonight at sunset, and I am writing to wish all those who observe an uplifting and meaningful holiday and an easy fast.
A female animal rights activist was captured on video weeping and crying as she held a chicken by a Kaparos Center in Brooklyn.
In the video below, watch the unnamed woman as she holds the chicken as if she is holding an infant.

A foreign alien suspected of attacking a four-year-old chareidi girl has been released from detention. Police did not even both to question the child, the victim, as required.
