On Sunday, May 19th , over 500 individuals will participate in OXC, OHEL’s Annual mud-run style extreme obstacle race at Camp Kaylie at OHEL in Wurtsboro, New York.
This Year, OHEL additionally takes OXC online, with our special 24 hour Online OHEL Xtreme Challenge, where, without the mud, you can help children, adults and families overcome life’s biggest obstacles. OHEL is celebrating 50 years of service in strengthening the community through over 50 programs and services that meet the ever increasing and diverse needs of the community.
With a goal of $500,000, OHEL is on a mission to continue make giant leaps and is gearing up for its 24 hour matching donor campaign!

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rafael Shmuel ben Fraydel Miriam, the young boy whose health struggles caught the attention and tugged at the heart of the entire Klal Yisrael.
Rafael Shmuel was born with his intestines outside of his body and required surgeries immediately after birth. Miraculously, Rafael Shmuel survived and spent several year being cherished by his family.
Unfortunately, Rafael Shmuel’s condition required correction through more surgeries and he returned to surgery last week accompanied by the tefillos of Klal Yisrael.

An NYPD traffic cop is under internal investigation for allegedly calling a Midtown motorist a “stupid Jew,” according to the department and reports.
The police officer is accused of yelling the insult at a driver who was attempting to make a right turn on East 57th Street and Park Avenue but, unable to get in the correct lane, attempted to make the turn anyway. That’s when the traffic cop walked over to the car and said “you can’t might a right turn, you stupid Jew.”
“I didn’t mean what I said, I apologized to the other gentleman,” the officer is captured saying on a video that does not include the initial insult.

There has been an slight uptick in the health of Rafael Shmuel ben Fraydel Miriam, the young boy whp  underwent a transplant last week.
Though Rafael Shmuel lost a lot of blood during the procedure and was is critical condition, the surgery was a success and Rafael Shmuel’s vitals eventually stabilized. The doctor was reportedly astonished at the stunning turnaround and has declared that it is a true miracle.
The young boy still has a long way to go before he is fully recovered,including a second surgery in the immediate future. Everyone is asked to keep in mind for a refuah shelaimah b’toch shaar cholei Yisrael.
 

A Tennessee criminal court judge has been facing calls to resign for posting on his Facebook page a link to an article that states that Jews should “get (***) over the Holocaust.”
Numerous organizations, including Jewish ones such as the Anti-Defamation League, and the Memphis Jewish Federation and Jewish Foundation of Nashville & Middle Tennessee, have called for Jim Lammey of the Shelby County Criminal Court to be reprimanded.
On Wednesday, Shelby County Commissioners took the first step on censure by voting for a resolution that was in favor of doing so. The resolution will be considered by the 13-member commission on Monday.
