As in past years, Agudath Israel of America’s Washington Office has worked closely with agencies of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help avoid potential problems for travelers carrying arba minim.
At an anti-draft gathering in Bnei Brak, instead of his planned speech, Slabodka rosh yeshiva Hagaon Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch simply apologized for the timing of the event, which, unbeknownst to organizers, fell on the secular memorial day for October 7th.

It has been two days since the conclusion of Shabbos after Rosh Hashanah, and thousands of Breslov Chasidim are trapped at the Ukraine-Romania border, wishing to return home.
According to sources from the community, many people are forced to wait outside in the inclement weather, without proper shelter.
Per a senior source in United Breslov: “The Ukrainians have created an electronic line and they only accept those who booked an appointment ahead of time. And sometimes there are no open appointments for the border for many hours ahead. It creates insane chaos.”
As tens of thousands of reservists are being called up to the northern front in the battle against Hezbollah in Lebanon, all logistical operations are kicking it up a notch. With the start of the Yamim Noraim and Succos approaching, flying under the radar is the fact that the role of the Israel Defense Forces’ Rabbanut just got tougher as well. It was never going to be easy providing for soldiers’ spiritual needs in the Gaza Strip during the Yomim Tovim, and the recent escalation with Hezbollah to the north has only deepened the challenge.
On Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists invaded the communities and towns on the Gaza periphery, one of the epicenters of fighting that day was the town of Sderot.
The images of Hamas terrorists entering the town as they brandished their weapons were a portent of the carnage to follow.

A woman who had been an aguna for nearly two years was finally freed from her marriage after her Israeli husband granted her a get. His decision came when he realized that without giving her the divorce, he would not be permitted to travel to the kever of Rav Nachman of Breslov in Uman for Rosh Hashanah.
The husband had planned to make his annual pilgrimage to Ukraine, but discovered he was barred from leaving Israel due to a travel ban—one of the penalties imposed on men who withhold a get. When his appeal to have the ban lifted was rejected, he ultimately conceded and granted his wife the divorce. She celebrated Rosh Hashanah as a free woman.
An IDF reservist has been suspended by the Israel Defense Forces after a video surfaced showing him appearing to give a Gemara shiur to at least three male terrorists who were bound and blindfolded, the IDF confirms.
The soldier responsible for filming the incident, which quickly spread across social media, has also been suspended.
“The behavior of the soldier in the video is serious and does not align with the values of the IDF or what is expected of IDF soldiers. The soldiers involved have been suspended from their duties and will face disciplinary action,” reads the statement issued by the IDF.
The time and location of the video remain unknown at this point.
