In response to recent communal tragedies and the challenging situation in Eretz Yisroel, particularly concerning the draft law and the ongoing war, the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel of America and the Lakewood roshei yeshiva have called for a special day of tefillah and teshuvah. Designated as a Yom Kippur Koton Mukdam, today, Thursday, will be a time for tefillah and introspection.
At Bais Medrash Govoah, tefillos of Yom Kippur Koton will be held in multiple locations. The botei medrash of Bais Yitzchok, Forest Avenue, Bais Shalom, and Bais Shmuel will each host the special tefillos, starting at 1:35 p.m.

It is with profound sadness that we report the tragic petirah of R’ Shloimy Lonner z”l. He was in his forties.
R’ Shloimy, a beloved resident of Primrose Drive in the New Central Avenue neighborhood of Lakewood, NJ, was a noted baal chesed and a true ben Torah. He was an outstanding individual, known for his unwavering kindness and dedication to helping others.
R’ Shloimy’s life was tragically cut short when he was stabbed to death today by an inmate at a mental health facility that he operated in South Jersey.
This tragedy has plunged the Lakewood community into deep mourning once more after a spate of tzaros has stricken the community.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Shani, and their children.

One Israeli soldier was killed and another seriously wounded in a terrorist stabbing in a shopping center in the northern city of Karmiel on Wednesday.
Magen David Adom paramedics treated the two victims, both males in their 20s, on the scene before evacuating them to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, where one of them died of his wounds.
The slain victim was identified on Wednesday evening as Israel Defense Forces Sgt. Aleksandr Iakiminskyi, 19, from Nahariya. The military said he served as a driver in the 188th Armored Brigade’s 71st Battalion.

In response to the landmark decision by the Israeli High Court last month, the Israeli military has embarked on a significant initiative involving the collection of income tax information from young chareidi men, the Kan public broadcaster reports.
The Israel Defense Forces plans to initiate the draft process by issuing call-up notices to employed members of the chareidi community.
This move comes as part of efforts to implement the attorney general’s directive, which mandates the conscription of 3,000 individuals from this demographic.

iSRAELI Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has approved a recommendation from the Public Council for the Commemoration of Soldiers to allow the addition of the acronym Hy”d (Hashem yikom damo – May God avenge his blood) to military gravestones of fallen soldiers, upon their families’ request.
This decision follows an appeal from the family of Captain Yisrael Yudkin Hy”d, who was killed in Gaza. The family had contested the official wording on IDF tombstones, but the Ministry of Defense initially rejected their claim.
Minister Gallant directed the Ministry of Defense to revise the regulations for approval by the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, as mandated by law.

Two chareidi soldiers, Yossi Reis and Liron Matalon, serving at Galatz (army radio), decided to grab some fries at a kosher McDonald’s in israel.
After their visit, they posted a photo on their personal Instagram accounts, unaware of the storm it would soon create.
In a matter of hours, the photo went viral across Arab media, sparking outrage and calls to boycott the fast-food chain. Among the reactions were claims that “McDonald’s feeds soldiers and supplies them with weapons.”
“We were in shock,” Reis told Channel 12 News. “We realized something was happening when our friend called to tell us that our photo had spread all over pro-Palestinian media.”

A group of young Lubavitcher bochurim from Crown Heights met this week with Rav Yerucham Olshin of Bais Medrash Govoah and Rav Mordechai Willig of YU, who were astounded by their astounding accomplishments and knowledge in Torah learning.

In recent weeks, a story that shook the entire Jewish world was publicized for the first time on Matzav.com. It was revealed that a gentile who served as a Shabbos goy in Shikun Skver in New York, aged seventy, is actually Jewish.
The Skverer dayanim, led by the Av Beis Din, Rav Yosef Yisrael Eisenberger, who investigated and examined the facts, indeed ruled to stop using him, since it became clear that halachically he is considered Jewish in every respect.

In a decisive yet highly significant ruling, the High Court of Justice last week mandated that the state commence conscripting chareidi yeshiva students into the IDF, ending decades of mass-exemptions for young men from the chareidi community.
Shortly thereafter, the Attorney General’s Office instructed the Defense Ministry to enforce the ruling, stating, “the defense establishment’s obligation to draft yeshiva students begins on July 1.”
But what does this mean in practice, and will the army start issuing thousands of conscription notices to chareidi yeshiva students in Bnei Brak, Yerushalayim, and elsewhere across Israel?
