On Sunday, President-elect Donald Trump dismissed recent claims by Democrats referring to tech mogul Elon Musk as “President Musk.” Speaking at the conservative “America Fest” event in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump firmly stated, “No, he’s not gonna be president, that I can tell you.” He further explained, “And I’m safe, you know why? He can’t be, he wasn’t born in this country.”
The comments come after Democratic leaders suggested Musk could be seen as the “true leader” of the GOP, especially after his outspoken opposition to a stopgap spending bill. Musk has been vocal in his criticism of the measure, with Trump aligning himself with Musk’s opposition to the deal brokered by his ally, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).
