An off-duty NYPD officer died after being found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound late Tuesday night, police said.
The officer, who has not been identified, was found with the gunshot wound at 178th Street and Union Turnpike in the Utopia neighborhood, according to police.

Police say an armed man has been shot and critically wounded by police officers in Brooklyn.
It happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Baltic Street in front of the Gowanus Houses.

A spokesperson for Crown Heights Shomrim tells YWN that an Orthodox Jewish man was walking on Shabbos morning at the intersection of Union Avenue and New York Avenue, when the incident occured.
