Light rail service in the area between Central Station and Damascus Gate was briefly shut down as Israeli police searched the area. Videos posted to social media showed Israel’s elite counterterrorism Yamam unit heavily armed while operating in the area. The suspect was later spotted on Hanaviyim Street off of Yaffo and was detained. An investigation is underway.   (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Elchanan Pardo, a yeshivah bochur who was wounded in the Ramot terror attack, visited Reb Avraham Noach Paley in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital on Wednesday, Shushan Purim. Pardo, a resident of Elad who was released from the hospital a week after the attack, still has a long road of rehabilitation ahead of him. During the visit, Reb Paley said to Pardo: “There are those who die for Kiddush Hashem. We’re zocheh to live with yissurim for Kiddush Hashem.” Reb Paley, who was transferred to a general hospital ward from the ICU last week, sat shiva for his sons h’yd, until Purim. On Purim, his brother, Rav Shlomo Paley, read the megillah by his bedside. (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)

Palestinians have for years celebrated murderous terrorists and the attacks they carry out against innocent Israelis whose only crime is being a Jew. Thursday was no different, as hundreds of Arabs celebrated – in sick, stomach-turning fashion – a murderous rampage carried out by one of their own on Tel Aviv’s Dizengoff Street. Handing out sweets and dancing over spilled blood, the terrorist lovers filled themselves with equal parts of hate for Jews and joy over their fellow’s evil violence. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

A terror attack occurred on Rechov Dizengoff next to a coffee shop in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening at about 8:40 p.m. Three men in their 20s were injured, one critically, one seriously, and one moderately, and were evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in the city. The terrorist was neutralized by a Border Police officer who was on leave and happened to pass by the scene of the incident as well as a civilian police volunteer who had come to the area to pick up his daughter. His daughter told Walla News that her father and the police officer each shot three bullets at the terrorist and neutralized him. Israeli security forces have launched a manhunt after a second terrorist who apparently fled the scene. This is a developing story. (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has warned the TSA to be ready to answer some tough questions from him over numerous alleged antisemitic incidents that TSA agents have been engaged in at JFK Airport in New York. The antisemitism and discrimination of visibly Jewish people at the airport has long been alleged, but has almost never received coverage in the press. This has allowed the incidents to continue unabated, with TSA agents unabashedly discriminating against, shaming, berating, and acting outright rude – but only to Jews.

A new trove of court documents from Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit show that Fox News star Tucker Carlson – who has been one of the most vocally pro-Trump conservatives in public – said privately that he hates Trump and is tired of his antics. In a text conversation between Carlson and a Fox News staffer just two days before the Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the US Capitol, Carlson wrote, “We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can’t wait.” Carlson also wrote that Trump and his lawyers “have so discredited their own case, and the rest of us to some extent, that it’s infuriating. Absolutely enrages me.” “That’s the last four years,” Carlson continued.

Jews throughout the world celebrated Purim on Monday evening, including the Jews in modern-day Persia, otherwise known as the Islamic Republic. Like every year, Chief Rabbi of Tehran Rav Yehudah Gerami davened at the kevarim of Mordechai and Esther in the city of Hamadan before Purim. In the video below, Jews in Tehran can be seen in shul after Kriyas HaMegillah reciting Shoshanas Yaakov in the Persian nusach. (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)
