A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through Tuesday morning for New York City and coastal areas. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect north and west of New York City. The high temperature will be 41 in New York City, and in the low 40s in the suburbs. Rain and snow will be developing during the evening. New York City and northern New Jersey could see snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Long Island could get between 2 and 4 inches of snow. Lakewood will see mostly rain with possibly some sleet.

Otzma Yehudit MK Yitzchak Kroizer caused an uproar on Monday morning when he suggested that the Jews who rioted in Huwara were inspired by the anti-judicial reform protests. “I have to point out that the rioters were perhaps inspired by a month and a half of [anti-judicial] protests,” Kroizer said during a meeting of the Knesset’s Consitution, Law, and Justice Committee, raising the fury of opposition members. A 25-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting attack on Route 90 near the Beit Ha’arava Junction on Monday evening. Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah Volunteers were on the scene and doing CPR on the victim who was rushed to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital. The IDF was searching for the terrorist. United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Eilon Lubiner said: “Together with additional first responders we performed CPR on a man in his 20s who suffered from gunshot wounds. He is now being evacuated to Hadassah Har HaZofim hospital in critical condition while undergoing continued resuscitation efforts.” DEVELOPING STORY

HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein was asked a shaila by a Bnei Brak avreich who wrote that he is is scared to go to shul on Shabbos with his children as no one in the shul carries a gun. “I checked out the possibility of obtaining a gun from the police for Shabatos and Yamim Tovim and they told me that they have a condition that I volunteer in the Bnei Brak civil guard for 45 hours a month,” the avreich wrote. “That would mean patrolling the streets in a car in certain areas and then I could receive a gun license. It would be at night so it wouldn’t be on the cheshbon of my learning in kollel. Is it appropriate for me to do this?” the avreich asked.

Dozens of Israelis descended on the Palestinian town of Huwara and protested violently after the death of two Israeli brothers in a Hamas-claimed shooting attack. Hillel and Yagel Yaniv HY”D were killed earlier Sunday in an attack that took place in the town targeted by the Israeli protesters. Homes and vehicles were set ablaze by the Israelis, and violent clashes left at least 98 Palestinians injured, and one Palestinian dead. It was not immediately clear if he was shot by civilians protesting or IDF troops amid the clashes. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that at least 20 were treated for smoke and tear gas inhalation, and at least one Palestinian was seriously injured after being struck in the head with a rock.

Two Israelis were murdered in a shooting attack near Shechem early Sunday afternoon. The terrorist opened fire at the Israelis’ car, shooting numerous bullets from point-blank range, and then fled the scene. MDA paramedics quickly arrived at the scene and began resuscitation attempts together with IDF medics. They then evacuated the victims, both men in their 20s, to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tivkah in critical condition while continuing resuscitation techniques.
