Many are questioning why Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is gearing to launch his presidential campaign, has not spoken up publicly after groups of neo-Nazis from the so-called “Goyim Defense League” distributed propaganda, protested, and harassed Jews across Florida this past weekend. In a viral video too vile for publication on YWN due to the sickening hate and obscenities therein, Goyim Defense League founder John Minadeo, who moved his hate group to Florida in December, is seen yelling “Heil Hitler, Jew!” at a passing man in front of a Chabad House. Minadeo was arrested several months ago after raising an anti-Semitic banner at the Auschwitz death camp in Poland. “Sir, do you think you should be put in an oven?” he said to another.

Labor MK and Reform Rabbi Gilad Kariv used his parliamentary immunity on Wednesday, Rosh Chodesh Adar, to bring a Sefer Torah into the Kosel plaza – in violation of the regulations. Kariv arrived at the Kosel with the Women of the Wall group, who were accompanied by leaders of the Reform movement from the US. UTJ MK Yitzchak Pindrus attempted to stop Kariv, unsuccessfully. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation stated: “MK Gilad Kariv took advantage of his immunity and entered with the Sefer Torah as the head of a group and led a protest in the heart of the Kosel plaza, which created a huge commotion. Despite appeals and pleas to him not to spur friction, he did not respond.

In a recent interview with Fox News, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu stated that Americans are “moving on” from former President Donald Trump. Sununu, a Republican, made the comments during an appearance on “Special Report,” stating that while the party is thankful for Trump’s service, they are not in the mode of settling for yesterday’s leadership. “We want the next generation,” he said. “I don’t think anything’s gonna get his poll numbers up. And as this race actually heats up and people start paying attention, there’s just gonna be a lot of other options on the table.” “And look my message to, about President Trump is we thank you for your service. Great. But we’re moving on. Americans are not in the mode of just settling. Right?

Former President Donald Trump has made it quite clear that he no longer likes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is almost certain to put up a strong fight against him for the GOP nomination in 2024. Trump has attacked DeSantis incessantly in recent weeks, including on Tuesday, when he let a Truth Social post fly – but probably without thinking it through first. In fact, the tweet is so bizarre, one could almost interpret it as an endorsement of the Florida governor. Here’s what Trump wrote: “Florida was doing GREAT long before Ron DeSanctus got there. People are fleeing from New York to Florida (and other places) because of high TAXES and out of control CRIME, not because of Governor (thank you President Trump!) Desanctimonious.

The mayor of East Palestine, Trent Conaway, has criticized President Joe Biden for traveling to Ukraine instead of visiting Ohio’s toxic train derailment site. Biden’s surprise visit to Kyiv on Monday to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has angered the mayor, who accused the President of abandoning his domestic responsibilities. Conaway spoke out against Biden during an interview on Fox News, calling his decision to visit Ukraine “the biggest slap in the face” and claiming that the President does not care about the people of Ohio. The mayor was also angered by reports that Biden had been giving away millions of dollars in aid to Ukraine while neglecting the Ohio disaster.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu chided the United Nations Security Council for its “one-sided” statement on Monday denouncing Israeli settlement activity and condemned the United States for supporting it. “The UN Security Council has issued a one-sided statement which denies the rights of Jews to live in our historic homeland, fails to mention the Palestinian terror attacks in Jerusalem in which 10 Israeli civilians were murdered, ignores the Palestinian Authority’s grotesque pay-for-slay policy which subsidizes the murder of Jews and belittles the evil of antisemitism, which has resulted in the slaughter of millions,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.

HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein on Monday published a letter, signed by Rosh Yeshivah HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein, against firecrackers ahead of the upcoming Yom Tov of Purim. “My dear brothers. I came to warn about the spilling of innocent blood וְלָאָרֶץ לֹא יְכַפֶּר לַדָּם אֲשֶׁר שֶׁפַּךְ בָּהּ (במדבר לה לג). Hakadosh Baruch Hu gave us the kodesh day of Yom HaPurim which is like Kippurim, and unfortunately, it has been transformed into a day of bloodshed.

An impressive and incredible event was held on Sunday night honoring the 250 heroes of Flatbush Hatzolah and their families who sacrifice so much so their father/husband can perform his lifesaving duties. Until now, Flatbush Hatzolah held an annual membership appreciation dinner touting the devotion of its members and their families, but this year the organization wanted to include the real heroes of Hatzolah: The entire family of each member. When a Hatzolah member runs out of a Shabbos Seudah, and returns 3 hours later, it’s not only him that gave of his time; it’s the entire family. An idea was therefore hatched to put on a dazzling musical performance for the families Within two weeks, all the preparations and legwork had been completed.

This morning, the New York Times published yet another lengthy, prejudicial article against Orthodox Jews, this time targeting Kiryas Joel, a village which “is almost entirely populated by Hasidic Jews.” The Times focuses its harsh spotlight on certain legitimate, school-related payments made by the Kiryas Joel school district to the United Talmudical Academy (U.T.A.) of Kiryas Joel. The report seems determined to find a scandal. But other than reiterating concerns about conflict-of-interest policies, the Times fails to find its smoking gun.
