The NYPD was investigating a homicide in Flatbush on Sunday evening. YWN that the NYPD and Flatbush Hatzolah were called to East 21 Street between Avenue P and Quentin Road, reporting a victim laying on the floor unconscious. Flatbush Hatzolah Paramedics found the victim in traumatic arrest, who was the victim of a stabbing. He was rushed to nearby Community Hospital with a stab wound to the chest, where he was pronounced dead a short while later. The NYPD requested a Level 1 Mobilization response, and Detectives were investigating. The NYPD tells YWN that they are looking for a white male who fled on foot. The identity of the victim was unknown, but sources tell YWN that it did not appear that Chevra Kaddisha services were needed in this incident.

The office of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has transferred its powers to the Supreme Leader’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, according to a report by Iranian journalist Mohamad Ahwaze. Ahwaze, who posted the report on Twitter, stated that Iranian sources have confirmed the transfer of power to Khamenei’s son, adding that “those close to Khamenei, 81, are very concerned due to his health condition at theis time.” Khamenei’s 51-year-old son, Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, who oversees several security and intelligence departments in Iran, has long been identified as a possible successor to his father.

Rosh Yeshivas Brisk, HaGaon HaRav Meshulam Dovid Halevi Soloveitchik was released from the hospital ten days ago and transferred to a private ICU unit at his home on Eli HaCohen street in Jerusalem, B’Chadrei Chareidim reported. The Rosh Yeshivah, 99, was released from the hospital after testing negative for the coronavirus but the transfer to his home was not publicized so as not to cause the public to decrease their tefillos, the report said. I had my siddur open and was praying. The flight attendant, Erica Green, angrily pushed my siddur down and told me to pull up my mask to comply with guidelines. My mask was up but she walked away without allowing me to show her. I brushed it off assuming she didn’t see me correctly. She came back with another flight attendant and they both got extremely angry at me.

Police arrested a number of Jewish business owners in Antwerp, Belgium after the businessmen were congregating inside a single store and asked to disperse. The owner of the store, an upscale jewelry store that is owned by a prominent member of the Jewish community, had apparently invited his friends in to have a Lechayim to celebrate the engagement of his daughter. The police, noticing the large gathering inside a single location, which was against the Coronavirus regulations of the country entered the store and asked the participants to leave. According to reports from the scene, a number of those gathered refused to leave and began to scuffle with the police, who used extreme force in order to subdue and arrest a number of those present.

A large Charedi wedding took place on Thursday night in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The wedding came just a few months after the historic signing of the Abraham Accords that normalized relations between Israel and the UAE.
