An NYPD Level 1 Mobilization response was requested. Law enforcement sources tell YWN that the suspect may have fled in a grey Hyundai Sonata with “TLC” Plates. The suspect is a black male wearing a white tee shirt, red shirts with a beard. Boro Park Shomrim was on the scene as well. Meanwhile, a person was stabbed at 928 41st Street minutes after the shooting. FDNY EMS and the NYPD were on the scene. It was unknown if the incidents are connected.

President Donald Trump is taking steps to revoke federal funds from New York City and other cities he says are descending into ‘anarchy’, according to a new report. Trump on Wednesday signed a five-page memo ordering all federal agencies to send reports to the White House Office of Management and Budget on federal funds going to four cities that can be redirected, according to the New York Post. In addition to New York, the memo names Seattle, Washington DC and Portland, Oregon as potential targets for revocation of federal funds. ‘My Administration will not allow Federal tax dollars to fund cities that allow themselves to deteriorate into lawless zones,’ Trump says in the memo, according to the Post. Shootings in New York City were up by nearly 166 percent and murders were up by nearly 50 percent in August compared to the same month last year, NYPD data released Wednesday shows. The city logged 242 shooting incidents last month — a 165.9 percent increase from August 2019, when 91 shooting incidents were logged, the newly-released data shows. A total of 1,014 shootings took place between Jan. 1 and Aug. 31 of this year — an 87 percent jump from the months between Jan. 1 and Aug. 31 of 2019, when the city logged 541 shootings, the data shows. Murders in the city were up by 34 percent in the first eight months of this year compared to the same period last year, from 217 to 291. Fifty-three of those 291 murders took place last month, the data shows.

President Trump slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday for “constantly lecturing everyone else” after she visited a San Francisco hair salon earlier this week, despite local ordinances keeping salons closed amid the coronavirus pandemic. Following a formal request by the United Arab Emirates, Saudia Arabia announced on Wednesday that it will allow all Israeli flights to and from the UAE to use its airspace. The announcement came following US diplomatic efforts on Tuesday when US President Donald Trump’s special adviser Jared Kushner met with Saudi Crown Prince Mahmoud Bin Salman. Saudi’s official Saudi Press Agency published a statement saying that its civil aviation authority has approved the UAE’s request allowing all incoming and outgoing flights to the Emirates “from all countries” (meaning Israel) to fly over Saudi airspace.

Israel’s Health Ministry designated Bnei Brak as a “red” city, meaning it has a high number of coronavirus patients and thus is considered to be dangerous. According to the new “traffic light” agreement put forth by Ronni Gamzu, which was accepted by the Government on Monday, any city designated as a “red” zone will have numerous consequences and restrictions placed upon it. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu‏‏ made a secret visit to the United Arab Emirates in 2018 and met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, Yediot Acharanot reported on Tuesday. The report said that the meeting took place in a “good atmosphere” and that Israeli and Emirati officials have stayed in contact since then. Mossad head Yossi Cohen facilitated the visit and was present at the meeting. As part of the ongoing contact since Netanyahu’s meeting, National Security Council head Meir Ben-Shabbat met with US and Emirati representatives in Washington about a year later. The Prime Minister’s Office refused to comment on the report. However, Netanyahu alluded to “clandestine meetings’ with Muslim leaders in a press briefing on Monday.

The Israeli-US delegation that flew on the historic flight to the United Arab Emirates on Monday includes members who are makpid on kashrus. The Emirates flew in Rav Yissachar Krakowski, the director of OU Israel, to oversee the preparations necessary to serve kosher food to the delegation members in the Muslim country. R’ Krakowski, who is also the Rosh Kollel at Rav Tzvi Kushelevsky’s Heichal HaTorah, told B’Chadrei Chareidim that according to what he understood from UAE officials, National Security Council head Meir Ben-Shabbat, who headed the delegation and is religious, requested that kosher food be provided.
