Lakewood, NJ – Lakewood, an area of 26 square miles, has 217 miles of Township streets. It also has thousands upon thousands of garbage receptacles – bins that, while serving town residents, belong to the Lakewood Public Works Department, which is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Township roads and sewers, Township parks and open space, snowplowing of Township streets, leaf and brush collection, and, of course, garbage and recycling collection.

HaRav Meir Mazuz, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Kisei Rachamim, is in critical condition.
Rav Mazuz has been hospitalized at Beilinson Hospital for the past week due to severe heart failure, and his condition has continued to deteriorate.
Doctors have described the situation as life-threatening, and rachamei Shamayim merubim are needed.
Talmidim close to the rosh yeshiva say that the situation is dire.

The Torah world of Petach Tikvah is mourning the petirah of Rav Hillel Yosef Meltzer zt”l, one of the city’s prominent talmidei chachomim and marbitzei Torah, who was niftar at the age of 57 after a prolonged illness involving serious kidney complications. In recent weeks, he had been connected to an ECMO machine as his condition worsened.
Rav Meltzer was a son of HaGaon Rav Shmaryahu Meltzer.

A touching event took place today at the Chozrim L’chayim Rehabilitation Department at Tel Hashomer Hospital. Lt. Col. Hadi Falah, a Bedouin officer in the IDF who suffered severe injuries during a battle in the Gaza Strip about three months ago, signed a special agreement to purchase all of the chametz from the residents of Gush Etzion in preparation for Pesach.

Shas chairman Aryeh Deri has drawn a red line regarding the controversial draft law, warning that his party will boycott all Knesset votes if no agreement is reached by the start of the summer session.
Speaking in an interview with HaDerech, the official Shas newspaper, Deri made his position unequivocally clear: “By the opening of the Knesset’s summer session, we must reach an internal agreement on all the core issues of the draft law — or we will refrain from participating in votes.”

A call for rachamei Shamayim has gone out across the Torah world following a significant deterioration in the condition of HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz, Rosh Yeshivas Kisei Rachamim.
Rav Mazuz, 80, was hospitalized earlier this week at Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah due to ongoing weakness. His condition worsened overnight.
All are asked to daven for Rav Meir Nissim ben Kamasna.

In an unexpected change of plans, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, Rav Yisroel Hager, will not be returning to Eretz Yisroel for Pesach, as originally scheduled. Instead, due to a significant decline in his strength, the Rebbe will remain in Los Angeles for the duration of Yom Tov.

Great excitement is sweeping through the Vizhnitzer kehillos as news spreads that the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, Rav Yisroel Hager, is expected to return to Eretz Yisroel this Thursday after spending over six weeks in Los Angeles undergoing medical treatment.
Sources within the chassidus convey that the Rebbe’s return, initially scheduled for earlier in the week, has been delayed by one day. B’ezras Hashem, the Rebbe is now slated to land in Eretz Yisroel on Thursday, the 12th of Nissan, depending on his health condition.

At two major gatherings—one in Ashdod marking the start of bein hazmanim and another at the Ichud Bnei HaYeshivos Conference in Ashkelon—HaGaon Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, Rosh Yeshiva of Slabodka, addressed pressing issues facing Torah Jewry, including the complex and sensitive matter of yeshiva students’ status regarding military conscription.
Rav Hirsch called on bnei Torah to maintain the nobility and standards of the yeshiva world, especially during the bein hazmanim break. In his address, he offered a rare glimpse into the discreet, behind-the-scenes efforts led by roshei yeshiva and members of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah in dealing with the current crisis surrounding the draft.
