It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rabbi Mordechai Kokis zt”l.
Rav Mordechai was a yungerman from Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood who had battled illness for the last couple of years.
A talmid chochom and yorei Shomayim who possessed extraordinary emunah and bitachon, Rav Mordechai inspired thousands with his avodas Hashem and reinkeit, before his illness and throughout his medical ordeal.
When others might have been weakened and dispirited, Rav Mordechai seemed to just keep going, learning Torah, being mechazeik others, and constantly speaking of the chesed of the Ribono Shel Olam.

“Knowing Shas is incredible – but not impossible!”

The Daf Puts Entire Torah Within our Reach

“I am a working man, not the Gadol Hador. Knowing ‘kol haTorah kulah’ is out of my realm.”

This sentiment may be common, but it is untrue. No yid is complete without completing Shas. Even if one is familiar with all the practically relevant halachos, he is missing “the full picture” of the gift that Hashem has given Klal Yisroel. These holy words – and the values and vision behind them – are the core of who we are, and who we will continue to be throughout the generations.

How can one accomplish this without having all day to learn and focus on Torah?

Daf Yomi changed the landscape…

Everywhere you go, people are gearing up for The Siyum. It’s on our minds, the topic of our conversations, and in our newsfeeds. Ok, maybe it’s in our newsfeeds a little too much, sorry. What will the weather be like? Who cares about the weather? Who will be speaking? Who will be singing? I can’t wait to dance!

Why? Simple. There is nothing more monumental and exciting than more than 100,000 yidden gathering together to celebrate Torah together with millions more around the world. The Siyum will be the most memorable and exciting yet, with historic numbers of participants from all over the world.

But, there is one question that remains. Where will you be on January 1?
