Three brothers of Qasem Araf Khalil Atafra, a Palestinian suspected of killing 19-year-old Dvir Sorek, were arrested by the Israeli Defense Forces, the Wafa Palestinian News Agency reported on Tuesday.
According to Wafa, the IDF detained a total of six people in an operation carried out on Tuesday at dawn in the Palestinian village of Beit Kahil, north of Chevron in the West Bank.
On August 11, the IDF announced that the suspects of the terror attack against Sorek were identified as 30-year-old Qasem Araf Khalil Atafra and 24-year-old Hamas activist Nazir Saleh Khalil Atafra, both from Beit Kahil. They had no previous arrests.

A man who refused to give his wife a get for over a decade has allegedly consented to terminate their marriage. This followed Chief Rabbi David Lau backing a ruling which prevented the divorce-refusing husband from burying his recently deceased mother.
The mother’s burial casket arrived in Israel from the US on Monday night, and after examining the case Lau backed the decision made by a US based Bais Din to postpone the kevura until the husband agrees to give a get.
“This is the most severe case of Agunah for over a ten years in which the husband totally refuses to allow his wife to continue her life while he is unlawfully married to a second wife,” said Lau.

Standing side by side on Monday, Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar  denounced the controversial decision by the Israeli government to deny them entry into the country, casting the travel restrictions as part of a broader effort to suppress voices of dissent against the treatment of Palestinians in occupied and disputed territories.
“Netanyahu’s decision to deny us entry might be unprecedented for members of Congress,” Omar said during a press conference, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “But it is the policy of his government when it comes to Palestinians. This is the policy of his government when it comes to anyone who holds views that threaten the occupation.”

President Trump on Monday night tweeted an edited photo depicting a Trump Tower in Greenland, responding to reports that he has expressed interest in buying the island territory by saying, “I promise not to do this to Greenland!”
The tweet comes after reports that Trump has floated the idea of the United States purchasing Greenland, an autonomous possession of Denmark. Trump acknowledged the possibility himself over the weekend.
“Strategically, it’s interesting, and we’d be interested, but we’ll talk to them a little bit. It’s not number one on the burner,” Trump told reporters from his Bedminster, N.J., golf club on Sunday while comparing it to a “large real estate deal.”

A group of high school students has been caught on video giving the Nazi salute. An eight-second video appears to show students from Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, California, singing a Nazi marching song while raising their arms in a Nazi salute.
The video was filmed in November 2018 before an after-hours, off-campus student athletics banquet, the Garden Grove Unified School District said in a statement. The video was shared among a small group of students on social media, the district said.
The district would not give details of how the students were disciplined, citing federal law that protects student records.

A Palestinian teen, resident of eastern Jerusalem, was indicted on Tuesday for an attempted lynch of a Jewish man who was driving on Salah ad Din Street at Israel’s capital, Hebrew-language media reported.
Last week on August 10, the 17-year-old allegedly exerted violence against the vehicle of the victim on the eve of Jewish holiday Tisha Be’ Av, which coincided this year with the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

Israel is facilitating the emigration of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to other countries, a senior Israeli official said on Monday.
The Jewish state is reportedly considering allowing Gazans to fly from an Israeli air field near Gaza, the official said, according to media reports. The official is part of the delegation currently with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Ukraine.
Israel is helping coordinate with other countries to find new homes for the emigrants, the official said, adding that more than 35,000 Palestinians left Gaza last year.

Immigration to Israel rose by almost 30 percent in the first half of 2019 compared to the previous year, according to the Jewish Agency for Israel.
The increase of 16,005 newcomers from 2018 comes mostly from Russian speakers leaving countries associated with the former Soviet Union.
According to a report in Haaretz, the overwhelming majority of new immigrants came from Russia, numbering 7,884 (a 73 percent increase), and Ukraine with 3,007 (a 6 percent increase)
Aliyah from the United States remained stable, with French immigration dropping 21 percent.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned in 2016 that Donald Trump was an “authoritarian” in the mold of then-President Barack Obama, according to a video newly resurfaced by The New Yorker magazine.
The remark by Pompeo, who at the time represented Kansas’ 4th Congressional District, sharply contrasts with his lavish praise for Trump after joining the president’s administration.
“You know, Donald Trump the other day said that ‘if he tells a soldier to commit a war crime, the soldier will just go do it,’ ” the video shows Pompeo saying at a March 2016 event in Wichita. “He said, ‘They’ll do as I tell them to do.’ We’ve spent seven-and-a-half years with an authoritarian president who ignored our Constitution. We don’t need four more years of that.”
