Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden received $900,000 for lobbying activities from Burisma Group, Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada member Andriy Derkach said citing investigation materials.
Derkach publicized documents which, as he said, “describe the mechanism of getting money by Biden Sr.” at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine’s press center in Kyiv on Wednesday. -Interfax

Two associates of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani have been arrested on charges that they schemed to funnel foreign money to U.S. politicians while trying to affect U.S.-Ukraine relations, according to a newly unsealed indictment.
The two men, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who had been helping Giuliani investigate Democratic presidential candidate and former vice president Joe Biden, were arrested Wednesday evening at Dulles International Airport in Virginia, where they had one-way tickets on a flight out of the country, officials said.

President Donald Trump’s biggest lender has told an appeals court it does not have in its possession Trump’s personal tax returns, according to a ruling released Thursday in a legal battle between Congress and the president.
The disclosure came in an order from the New York-based appeals court, which is considering whether Trump can block subpoenas from two House committees seeking years of his personal financial documents from Deutsche Bank and Capital One. The lawsuit, which preceded the House impeachment inquiry, is one of several the president has filed to try to block access to his business data.

President Donald Trump is slated to travel  to Minneapolis for an event – his first rally since House Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry into his attempts to pressure a foreign country to investigate one of his top Democratic rivals.
The rally will allow the President to fire up die-hard supporters at a time when some polls suggest that Americans are troubled by his conduct and favor the investigation.
But unlike most of his rallies held in Republican strongholds, Trump selected a congressional district for Thursday night’s event that he lost by 55 points in 2016 – and one that is represented by Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., the outspoken Somali American and Muslim lawmaker whom Trump has repeatedly attacked, sometimes using false information.

The American Jewish population has grown 10 percent in the last seven years and is mostly liberal, 65 or older and white, according to a new American Jewish population estimate of the 48 contiguous U.S. states by Brandeis University’s Steinhardt Social Research Institute.
As of 2018, there are approximately 7.5 million Jews in the contiguous United States, which is about 2 percent of the U.S. population. The United States is home to the largest Jewish community in the world even above Israel, which has 6.5 million Jews according to recent government statistics.

Drivers will soon have to slow down when cruising along the West Side Highway as city officials take steps to trim down how fast cars can travel between 59th Street and Battery Place as part of the Vision Zero pedestrian safety program.
Despite having eight lanes to cross, the city wants people to think of the West Side Highway as less of a highway and more of a street. The 35 mile an hour speed limit is set to drop to 30 mph on October 12, with new signs also set to be installed.
The five-mile stretch of roadway has seen 10 traffic fatalities since 2013, including three pedestrians, two cyclists, and five motor vehicle occupants.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday denounced the just-launched Turkish invasion of the Kurdish region of northern Syria.
“Israel strongly condemns the Turkish invasion of the Kurdish areas in Syria and warns against the ethnic cleansing of the Kurds by Turkey and its proxies,” the prime minister stated.
Netanyahu’s remarks are a rare split with US President Donald Trump, who effectively gave Turkey a green light to undertake the invasion and pulled American troops out of the area.
