New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused President Donald Trump of engaging in “targeted” anti-Semitism toward California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff in a Saturday tweet.
Ocasio-Cortez’s comments came after the president condemned the House Intelligence Committee chairman, who is Jewish, for fabricating part of his opening statement during a Sept. 26 hearing regarding Trump’s July phone call with Ukraine’s president.
“Understand that Trump is engaged in deliberate, atrocious, targeted antisemitism towards Chairman Schiff. Then ask yourself why no one cares to denounce it – esp when his accusation of it towards others drove full news cycles earlier this year,” the freshman Democrat tweeted along with an Intercept article.

Over the past half-century, North America has lost more than a quarter of its entire bird population, or around 3 billion birds.
That’s according to a new estimate published in the journal Science by researchers who brought together a variety of information that has been collected on 529 bird species since 1970.
“We saw this tremendous net loss across the entire bird community,” says Ken Rosenberg, an applied conservation scientist at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, N.Y. “By our estimates, it’s a 30% loss in the total number of breeding birds.”

Sneezing. Sniffling. Coughing.
There’s not much you can do to stop the common cold except wait it out. But a new study published in Nature Microbiology may have lit the path to discovering a drug that can stop the virus in its tracks, scientists say.
Researchers in California recently discovered a protein needed for the viruses that cause the common cold to spread inside your body. Get rid of the protein, get rid of the virus.
That’s just what scientists at Stanford University and the University of California in San Francisco did, first in human cancer cells, then in lung cells and finally in live mice. The results of their study suggest a drug that can keep the virus away from that protein may be able to stave off your winter cold.

The United Kingdom will be “packing our bags and walking out” of the EU in 25 days, Boris Johnson wrote in two British newspapers.
Writing in the Sun and the Daily Express, the British prime minister reiterated his stance that the U.K. will be leaving the bloc on October 31 — and sought to place the blame squarely on Brussels if there’s a no-deal Brexit.
“After decades of campaigning, three years of arguments and seemingly endless months of pointless delay, it is now just 25 days until the United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union comes to an end. We will be packing our bags and walking out on October 31. The only question is whether Brussels cheerily waves us off with a mutually agreeable deal, or whether we will be forced to head off on our own,” he wrote.

The median sale price of a Manhattan home dipped below $1 million during the past three months amid the imposition of new taxes on high-end properties, according to a market analysis released on Wednesday.
The $999,950 median price represented a 17% decline compared to the same period last year, CORE Real Estate said.
The number of condo sales also dropped by 8%, to 946, and the largest units — with four or more bedrooms — were the biggest bargains, with both median and average prices down 20%, CORE said.

After another man appeared with a similar injury, the officers swept the area. They found two other dead victims nearby and then a third at another location, each with severe head trauma.
The four deceased men, all believed to be homeless, and one severely injured victim were apparently random victims of bludgeoning, police said.
