Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu shared his belief on Thursday that the residents of northern Israel would be able to return to their homes once the situation along the border remains stable and the ceasefire agreement is effectively upheld. “The threat in the north has been removed. We will work to convince not just our enemies, but also our residents. They will return gradually when they feel it correct,” Netanyahu stated during an interview with Channel 14.

The UN’s nuclear watchdog has verified that Iran intends to deploy approximately 6,000 new centrifuges for uranium enrichment, as reported by AFP.
“Iran informed the Agency that it intended to feed” around 6,000 centrifuges at its facilities in Fordo and Natanz, aiming to enrich uranium to a concentration of up to five percent, which exceeds the 3.67% limit Tehran had committed to in the 2015 agreement.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit released figures on Friday morning detailing the progress of Operation Northern Arrows. During the operation, more than 12,500 Hezbollah terror-related targets were hit, including over 1,600 military command centers and more than 1,000 weapons storage facilities. According to the information shared, approximately 1,000 targets related to terrorist infrastructure were struck in the Beqaa Valley, and another 360 targets were hit in Beirut. The Israel Air Force carried out 11,000 takeoffs for airstrikes in Lebanon, logging 14,000 hours of fighter jet flight. Meanwhile, the Israeli Navy executed over 25,000 division-level raids.

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, known for her outspoken anti-Israel views, told British journalist Piers Morgan in an interview that Israel’s actions in Gaza following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack were illegal. Albanese stated that while Israel had the right to defend itself on the day it was attacked, including using force and detaining individuals involved in the attack, “Israel didn’t have the right to wage a war against the Palestinians in Gaza.”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a series of legislative measures aimed at combating crime and enhancing public safety, with one law focusing on safeguarding residents from violence motivated by hatred. The new law revises an existing state statute, adding provisions that classify the removal, or even the threat of removing, religious garments—such as a yarmulka or hijab—as second-degree aggravated harassment, according to the governor’s office.
“Public safety is my top priority, and I’m committed to using every possible tool to keep New Yorkers safe,” Hochul remarked.

Democrat Governors and Mayors vow to resist President-Elect Donald Trump’s plans to mass-deport illegal immigrants from the US.

According to a confidential International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report seen by Reuters on Thursday, Iran has threatened the IAEA it plans on expanding it’s uranium enrichment capabilities by installing additional centrifuges at its Fordow and Natanz nuclear facilities, and activating machines recently installed there.
Following a resolution by the IAEA’s 35-nation board of governors criticizing Iran, Iran notified the IAEA of it’s intention to increase it’s nuclear capabilities, but has made little progress in doing so.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed concerns about President-elect Donald Trump’s safety as he awaits his inauguration in January.
“What was most striking … was not even that absolutely uncivilized means of struggle were used against Trump, absolutely uncivilized, up to and including attempted murder, and more than once,” Putin remarked during a press conference in Kazakhstan on Thursday.
He warned, “By the way, in my opinion, he is not safe now.”
Speaking at length during the press conference following the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Summit, Putin criticized the treatment Trump faced leading up to the 2024 election.

On Thursday, almost exactly one year following her release from Hamas captivity, former hostage Mia Schem became engaged to Yinon Hason.
Schem was captured by Hamas from the Nova music festival, and was wounded during her adduction. Inside Gaza, her wounds were treated by a veterinarian without the use of anesthesia.  Additionally, Schem was held inside a cage for five days with five other female hostages, who she has not publicly named.
Since being released from captivity on November 30th, 2023 in the hostage release ceasefire, Schem has been active in calling for the release of the remaining hostages. Schem has spoken at the White House and at the United Nations, calling for the release of the remaining 101 hostages.
